Listening to draymond press about his punch (youtube), I’ve gained a new perspective on draymond. It takes a certain human being to sit up there and answer questions and give the media that much airplay on something that just happened recently, and very disgusting to must and especially people with trauma history.
But I also respect his response and sensitivity he showed for Poole and his camp. And he owned his mistake and didn’t run or try to deflect or look for sympathy. He also mentioned the tape was cut and doesn’t show the entire scene and was cut in a way to make him look at his worse.
What’s interesting is how the coach was walking with him and knew something might happen. But at the same time the coach wasn’t in a hurry to grab draymond. This means to me Poole did something that the coach noticed (maybe verbally or physically) but did not expect draymond to respond that way. Still doesn’t make it right. And draymond admitted that. And he didn’t sound scripted.
This was his second apology and with a few days to measure it was a thing of beauty delivered by someone who is now more mature and royally phucked up. Perhaps from the heart with help from a public relations firm as well.
Lets not forget his history including a in game altercation he was suspended by the team in 2019 with Durant. One might say he has matured but you can scrum in practice and hug it out. Teams do this year in and year out. Then there is a line to cross.
NO doubt Poole had his hand in instigation and maybe his maturity is being questioned to push the buttons of a teammate like that as well. They both fucked up. If there is true regret on both accounts, two men can come back even stronger if they can find a real human place and can align to a common goal. If not one has to go.
“Taking time away” I assume with pay is a graceful way to deal with in house suspension with a vet who has to sort out what just happend and put into perspective his anger that might exist due to wanting an extension and being paid for past performances. Im not going to pretend im in either of their heads and project what I’d think,.
Warriors have a vet core and very sound leadership forged from success and disappointment (2016, 2019). If any team can rebound from adversity such as this I imagine they are as good as any.
As for Dray as a knick? Spree was in his prime were Dray is likely on decline. There was a formula of what became arguably the best shooting backcourt in history and a coach with a philosphy all at the right time and place. Along the way there was vets like Iggy and Andrew Bogart.
Back on point, Dray is a HOF player due to his ability to exist as part of a core dynasty. He can bring wisdom and emotions but not his past success. I’ll pass.

From a bball standpoint alone, he relies on his chemistry with Klay and Steph a ton and that’s how he gets by. With a whole new situation, as much as I actually like him, I may actually pass on him too. It’s a little too much of an unknown. Even if it’s for Randle.
arressted?...Criminal?? wow
Poole started. Green finished.
Poole should have kept his guard up.
Who would win in a fight Zach Randolph or Draymond? I’d go with Zach

Fuck Draymond.
This was nothing more than a punk move. Thugs are all over the NBA. Anyone else would have been thrown off the team. People okay with this are acting like this is some trash YMCA league in East LA. For me, above all, you never ever hit a team mate. You can't take some trash talk? Soft shit. Some saying Poole should have expected it, why? He at the park playing with crackheads? HOF on Curry's and Klay's coat tails. It could be argued that Iggy and Wiggins made more impact on the defensive end.
F Dray in NY. All we need is a piece of shit punching our youngins. Rather have Poole here. Kid can ball. The whole PR bullshit is hilarious as well. Think GS let the video get out so as to lower outside interest and bring down new contract. Dray taking time off is also bullshit. Wow, he sacrifices a few games that mean nothing. What a guy. I would keep an eye on Poole if Dray is still around and GS acts like nothing ever happened.
For a 250 pound guy to reach back and put full force into a punch in the face--hes lucky that something significant did not occur. If he did that at Mcdonalds that would probably be a felony crime. Poole pushed him out of his personal space which was reasonable. The rest was what was viewed
Being real.......
Poole shoved him and should have put his guard up as soon as Green started moving toward him. I know he pushed him out of his space, and we don't know any of the words or the context of the words.
That said, Green was wrong to pull that punch. The punch did not land which matters.
My opinion is you give Poole the extension and move forward. You ask Poole to try to work it out. I mean real mediation with a pro and get it right. If not, then its about trading Green going forward.
Greens has a player option for next year.
The whole legality thing is a bit interesting regarding the video. Those practices are truly off limits!
