Hoping for 4-3 but can live with 3-4 which will bring us to 7-4 or 6-5.

Who thought after 4 games Obi and Cam would be leading the team on 3pt%?

4 highest volume 3point shooters are our worst: RJ, Randle, IQ, Fournier

Our lack of 3pt shooting is going to be a problem. RJ,Randle and IQ are all volume chuckers. Cam and Grimes, if you are listening, this is what you need to provide - efficient 3pt shooting. You already have the dogged defensive intensity part.

As far as Randle goes - at his position there really aren't any better options out there. He can be a top NBA player at his position and I believe he is going to figure it all out. If we can get an uprade at the 2 & 3, Randle will be a total beast.

Cam - We are 4 games in. This kid is going to level up by the Allstar break if he can stay healthy.

RJ - I really just don't know man. I wouldn't be disappointed if he were traded. He is going to keep pressing to live up to his contract and it is hard to watch. He lead the league in getting his shot blocked last season and looks to be eager to hold onto that title again this year.

Grimes - I expect a slow start but great D.

Fournier is what he is. He will start making his shots and at least try on D. He is a stopgap until someone else stops up.

CHO looked like they have a bunch of long athletic young pieces. that length and athleticism gave us trouble and exposed IQ and RJ as tweeters without any elite athletic skills. Barring a trade for an upgrade to the SL, we need Cam and Grimes to grow into starters who know their role and can shoot 38% from 3.

So, Briggs, what are you seeing after 25 games?

To me, we are not a disaster, but I was hoping for a slighly better result. So far not enough to tune out, but not much to get excited about. Jury still out.

Philc1 @ 12/8/2022 7:14 AM
12-13 middle of the pack team. We should make the playoffs or at least play in
martin @ 12/10/2022 10:04 AM
Fournier was shut down right after the OKC debacle and Grimes started about 5 games later.

Rose only played 4 of last 9 games.

Well they had to mess with the ingredients to get the cake right. It looked bleak watching us give up 15-20 open 3'd a night. Team resembles more of 2 years ago right now. Net differential is now positive.

Only a week ago you thought everything was a disaster.

martin @ 12/10/2022 1:33 PM
Randle rounding out the first 25 quite nicely

Briggs:

"Disaster. What to say other than I hope they lose"

The Briggs calendar is not the same as you or I.

After 26

KnickDanger @ 12/10/2022 4:12 PM
Top 4 seem likely to stay in place. Wiz and Bulls seem to be joining the tank brigade. Five through ten looks topsy turvy and Knicks could conceivably land anywhere in there. Injuries, trades, drama are outside forces for all involved.
Nalod @ 12/10/2022 5:39 PM
Its pretty clustered. Way too early to tank and obviously Thibs knew what he was doing. At some point go to this 9 man thing.
Its along season and everyone has gotten a chance.

Miami in a pickle. The genius Riles not to smart this year thus far. Lowrey and Duncan on bad deals. Bam is not breaking out, and Hero is ok.
Still early. We are .500. half full, half empty and half understanding.

What happened to Chicago? I thought they had an all star backcourt?

It's been hit by synchronizing knee injuries. Yearly thing for Chicago. Part of the price they had to pay for Derrick Rose's MVP season.

The circle of knee life would only be complete if Chicago reached back and traded for DRose

Bulls snake bitten with this roster. Good idea but did not execute.

After 26 in 2019-20: 11-15
After 26 in 2020-21: 12-14
After 26 in 2021-22: 13-13

What an improvement! Fantastic offseason this last one was! At this pace we are taking the EC season crown in 7 years.

Don’t laugh, it beats regressions!!!!!!
The path to greatness goes thru mediocrity. Lets be glad we have ascended from suckatude.
Real estate prices are still high but im hoping knicks can find residence on “respectable street” for a long stretch!

ramtour420 @ 12/11/2022 9:44 AM
The exciting part is we have shown improvement this year while playing our youth meaningful minutes. It's not like we are getting J Kid's swan song season over here. This progress should be sustainable as our young players develop further
