Maybe showing us that RJ is playing out of position.
That we need more scoring in the paint from our bigs.
That we need to run more P&Rs when the pace slows down.
That we need better 3pt D. What the Cavs did shouldnt happen again. No easy looks.

What I would expect from someone who has devoted a thread to tearing RJ down, brick by brick.
Surprised you had time to post in this thread, usually busy tending to your "RJ hate garden".

The Duke Basketball standout guard, R.J. Barrett, won the Jerry West Award as the best shooting guard in the country at the College Basketball Awards. After one of the best single seasons in the history of the Duke Basketball program, R.J. Barrett took home the first award that was presented at the College Basketball Awards as the winner of the Jerry West Award.
RJ has played SG and SF, but he made a name for himself as an SG. Maybe he can again. Its worth finding out.

he brings some real impact at the 2 with his size even when the J isnt falling. At the 3 he's totally average (eye test)
I saw us get destroyed on defense at the guard position. They went after Brunson and that got them going.
RJ looked great getting that lead then he and the whole team started turning the ball over. ATL was putrid when the deficit occured missing everything, That 3rd quarter for us was one ugly mess.
Blame? Everyone. it was a stinker. Our back court defense was ugly. On offense Evan was out of sorts. RJ to the rim was the only thing that worked. Mitch silly fouls hurt alot. Hart can protect the rim but rebounding he gets “small”.
Randle looked bad. 2nd half Obi was invisible.
One fires the coach when the team plays below expectations. Not sure what most of you expect. I will say that you spend 100 mil on brunson to play with Uncle Thibs two weeks in you don’t fire him. That seems silly. What does JOhnny Bryant bring that thibs does not?
Lets not be stupid either, ATL has a talented roster and no matter how much you hate Trae and them its not a bad team. Murray really put on a show on both ends last night.

Atl is good. Picking up Murray was key/good addition for them. But not good enough for us I guess.
. Still should have been able to win that game though. Especially if we played average defense in third quarter.
Guess a bright spot is that we had a big lead. Also, Obi played well I'm the first half. However, once defenders stopped him from breaking free on transition, his offense stopped. Brunson showed some weakness on D against against solid guards again.
RJ took his 18 shots but did look for others a bit more. Randle was lost. EF was missing. Second unit sucked on defense in second half. First unit sucked on defense in second half. Team once again followed the same pattern and stopped moving the ball when down or in close games. Keep hope alive.

Yes, ATL is good! ATL got embarrassed by TOR and then made a statement coming from behind FAST!
Whats concerning is the level of effort on D, so early in the season. When the grind of 82 games hasnt worn players down. I get it taking a few months for shots to start falling, not to play solid D.
Even if this season turns into a stinker, which is way too soon to tell. Thibs should have the entire season. He's earned that much. Dont want to go back to the bad old days, doesnt help attract coaches looking for more than a payday. Or promote a coach who isnt on staff.
Coaches who arent already with a team, usually dont accept job offers to replace a coach during the season. Like Udoka did. Dont care about the ties to the franchise. He'll fit right in with that org.

Agree. Thibs is not the issue. Although he may have to realize that the guys he trusted to give him the best chance of winning are no longer that.
Right now it just looks like we all got over excited by a few wins vs mediocre teams.
Too excited about how much JB would make a difference.
As usual, way too excited about our home grown talent.
We have a whole bunch of young inconsistent players.
As fans it's easy to think they are all future All Stars despite a small sample size.
Mainly because fans have an abundance of hope.
After last night pathetic performance from a team that embarrassed the Knicks in a playoff series (1-4).
Leon Rose and coach Tom Thibs need to be FIRED on the same day asap !!!
The 7 game test may go 0-7 .. Stuborn Thibs refuse to play 2nd season Sims vs Bucks, Cavs. and Hawks when Sims big body and rebounding could've change the game.
Randle & Barrett are BUMS .. we cant get rid of because of Leon Rose needed media attention!!!
1) The Milwaukie Bucks .. We loss 119 -108
2) The Cleveland Cavs .. We loss 121 - 108
3) The Atlanta Hawks .. We loss 112 - 99
4) The Philadelphia 76ers ..
5) The Boston Celtics ..
6) The Minnesota Timberwolves ..
7) The Brooklyn Nets

We need three point shooting. Especially because we do not have a dominant force at the rim. (Greek Freak) Thibs cant shoot open three's for everyone. Rose needs to understand todays NBA and must do a better job getting/keeping solid three point shooters. (Burks, Bullock)
Game vs Hawks:
Randle 0%
RJ 33%
JB 25%
EF 25%
IQ 33$
Obi 33%
Total 10 for 36 or 27% Hawks 35%. Saturday Cavs shot 46%.
We need "consistent" three point shooting.
