Knicks · Ot Joshua primo (page 1)
Knicks don’t really need a 6-4 prospect but I really hope another team gives him another chance. I’m not killing a kid 17-21 for whipping his stuff out. For goodness sakes a whole lotta males wouod be in trouble. I know it’s wrong but as far as we’ve heard over many years this is something I wouldn’t deem as waive or sue worthy? I’m sure he can talk with a counselor and workout the issues. While objectionable there is too many much worse issues out there to simply kill the kid.

I would look into it. I don’t think Knicks will. Keels was specifically drafted by management

Its a form of control, power, and considered a disorder for men to get aroused with non consensual exibitionism or masterbation. Its also a sexual crime.
Its fucked up for a young man to be doing it and can’t stop.
How do women who get flashed react to it? Briggs, maybe to you its no big deal to you but why the fuck would you not stop and think about this? I recall Trumps pussy grabbing ways did not deter your vote for him.
It might be pretty egregious acts for a progressive club like the Spurs to take this extreme act to flat out eat his contract and waive him. I can guess there is a crime here. Locker room issue? I think so. Women and sponsers? Yeah, I think its a a problem.
I know its texas and they love trump and his pussy grabbing act down there. For them to waive might be something pretty bad coming.
Briggs, you were pretty much all about trump back in the day so maybe pussy grabbing and dick waiving is all good in your world? The whole power trip of trump still good to you? Lets see what comes out (pun intended)before we let him back in the league.
Sorry, demonstrative male dominant behavior has limits and stretches the cultural acceptance that won’t jive in many communities. Maybe in time he can return from this. Louis C.K. Lost big chunk of his career because of it. Athletes that are employed by teams that play in public funded buildings and rely on sponsorships might be a bit sensitive to this.

WTF? So if his dick grew too that be ok as well? Guys, you think Spurs management pulled some “church lady shit” and let him go for a slight indescretion? They are a very progressive organization and Im sure would did much due dilligence on him and made a major financial investment. “I would look into it”? Yes, of course you should if your a GM. But have to admit, its not like “oh, Im smarter than Spurs and well, boys will be boys, so, ha ha, you know, whats a bit of an unwanted wank gonna hurt anyone”. Its not quite rape, but its still a crime.
Im not saying lock his ass up or anything. Im just not stupid enough to think that as a gm my sponsers, fans and women employed in the company are going to be quick to accept him and his situation.
There is a process perhaps and I hope that can be achieved and better yet with Spurs.

Lol. Come on brother -/ this is a 19 year old who supposedly whipped it out. I don’t like to act holier than tho— we all do stupid shit when young in one form or another. Josh please think twice from here on in— of course there are no 19 year olds at Harvard whipping it out or something just as goofy this weekend right. It’s a kid

There are so many hills to die on. I don't think this is one of them. I've been flashed by chicks I definitely did not consent give consent to. Was it fucked up? Yeah. Did I think it deserves to be pushed to the point that impacted the rest of their lives? No. No disagrees that this was a serious offense and the kid needs help. All I'm suggesting is that the Knicks should monitor the situation and present an offer if he's deemed to be ready. Hell, we pretty much did the same thing with Dame Dotson a few years ago.
Why it a crime?
Grow up guys, at least try to understand the logic.

I understand the issue clearly. But I also believe in second chances. We have an assistant coach whose been accused of a couple of sex crimes. We root for a franchise that has well documented history of nurturing toxic workplace for women. Now we're all going to blush because some guy has a mental issues and needs to whip it out? I have grown up to the point where I realize that everybody who plays for the teams I root for isn't a saint. Sure, there are levels to this, but the Primo situation, as far as I know, doesn't rise to the level of irredeemable.

Just bizarre view- it's a sex crime, I don't know anyone who at 19 went round getting thrills out of showing their genitals to women who didn't want to see them. It's a violation, like masturbating in front of someone who didn't want you to. Would you be okay with it if someone did it to your daughter or wife while they were at work? Would you laugh it off and say ' no harm done!'
You used to say how you wouldn't even be okay if a gay man changed in the locker room next to you, back when there was a debate about gay nba players. Now if there's a sexual motive and it's to women, you think that's perfectly fine. Jesus.

Reading reactions to these issues on sports forums is depressing/infuriating

Would you like to work with a sex pest who enjoys exposing himself to men? Would you feel comfortable in that environment? How about if your boss said "hey- if it's late at night and you're alone with him, this guy might get a thrill out of exposing himself to you (don't worry, he hasn't raped anyone yet!), but he's shown great potential with his accounting skills!"
We don't know all the facts, but I take issue with people downplaying men exposing themselves to women who are not consenting- people have a right to go to work and not have to worry about someone getting a thrill out of showing their d*** to you.

what the actual fuck are you talking about? get therapy if you think whipping your shit out is 'normal'

he did something wrong at 19 like millions of 18-19 yo do. It can vary what dumb things kids do but it happens every day. I do NOT think you write a 19 yo off for this. Hes wrong but as long as he did not touch anyone else I think counseling/working with him is the appropriate reasonable response. Their making him out to be a hardcore sex predator--so are you---and I dont think he has come close to that. If a woman exposed her breasts to you--which they do--r they going to face such scrutiny? The punishment does not meet the crime here/
david Cone YES our Mets and Yankees pitcher announcer DID THE SAME F thing. He missed no time in his career and as far as I know never did it again.

Nobody said to write him off. But your cavalier approach like "boys will be boys" is your perspective. Lets put it this way, Spurs flat out cut him out. THats kind of telling. "lets monitor, whats the harm". None, but stating as you did without the facts, and you have no idea what this type of behavior is all about.
So basically your post was about "lets jump on this kids talent, after all, I don't understand this abnormality, and he is so young, after all, haven't we all done stupid stuff, and lots of guys do dick picks, so whats the big deal?"
If you don't know what the big deal is, perhaps sit down and do some reading about it. Men don't seem to get upset because we don't understand. WOmen flashes her tits is not the same. A women, co worker might work with someone every day. Then to pull a power thing on them and start getting aroused on them in person is a clear violation and that is a strong emotional impact.
Lets examine somthing most of us are not going to get upset over........So a women teacher, say 25 years old seduces a 17 year old male student. First thing we think of "Is she hot". Ok, she is. We like "Damn, why couldn't have gotten some of that! Truth is its a crime. Why? Its not like a Male teacher did that to an underage female, taht would be fucked up, right? Authority figure with predatory behavior taking advantage of a girls emotional state, thinking he loves her and has to keep it all secret because it is very messed up to do that to someone else! Why would it not be the same for a female to male studant? Cuz we are dudes and think banging a teacher would be cool. What if you fell in love with her? What if she promised you all kinds of things and did the super possessive thing and messed with his head?
My point is we don't see it in the same light because we are males. JOsh Primo is not ready to resume a basketball career and not in a few weeks/months. The trama thing? Does it matter why he does it? The fact he does is not good. He needs help and I hope he can get it and earn the trust of friends, fans and coworkers. But lets not this is not an issue. Its rooted in power and dominance and it violates badly. We not talking about a flasher on the street, we talking about people he knows. Rape is not about getting laid, its a violent power play over a human. This is not as severe but violations are not causual and just because you don't udnerstand it does not mean its cool If your trying to understand why people are freaking out well then read up on it.

I've seen plenty of women express the same sentiment. This isn't some men are from Mars, women are from Venus B.S. I've read stories from guys that said being in an underaged relationship effed them up in some ways, regardless of the gender of the predator, and I've read stories from girls who were able to move on. Even heard first hand accounts from a few women who bragged about it. People from both genders process these acts differently. I'm not saying I condone it. Just that these things should be handled in a court of law with consistency, without any pre-existing stereotypes.. Anyway, rape is rape and public exposure is public exposure. I don't equate the two as being on the same level. And no one here is saying what Primo did isn't serious. He obviously has issues if urges get to the point where he's willing to put millions on the line. No one is saying it's not serious. But is it an irredeemable act? No, IMHO. Is it out of the question to say he can get treatment and resume living a normal life? No, it isn't. Would I be lying if I said I wouldnt care if this kid didn't have talent. A little bit...
. I just think of that name and Primo. Was Primo asking for his Dick to be graded.
