We might catch a break with Harden already out and Embiid is questionable with the flu.

Maxey and Harris will combine for 60.

Probably Hartenstein for Robinson or Grimes for Fournier.

no reason to bench Mitch... he and Hart are interchangeable. Its def going to be Fournier and I think its Quickly

I'm guessing IQ for Fournier

Clean @ 11/4/2022 12:17 PM
One thing I am interested in seeing is if Sims gets any playing time. Last season Sims was our best defender for Embiid in the games he got playing time.
KnickDanger @ 11/4/2022 12:40 PM
I'm as bummed as anybody but I'll be damned if I'm going to start another trade Randle/fire Thibs/we should tank thread (then again they all are).

Go New York go!

If a change does happen today, Quickly makes the most sense being that Grimes ain't ready yet...

Quick has obviously worked on his defense and Evan is not contributing enough on offense. To be fair, teams are abusing brunson which is fundamentally problematic.

or......

RJ slids to the 2 and Cam to the 3. Grimes in and Rj slides back to the 3 with second unit.

The bold is my thought now also. Evan is not scoring well enough to cover for his defense. He is unplayable as a starter this year. Quick is iffy shooting but at least he tries on defense. I really just wish some of the coaches would tell Quick to stop with the Curry 3's and the off balanced 3's. it is why he has so many bad shooting games. Like Cam's shots those are extremely low percentage shots.

Grimes hasnt "earned" it yet tho... IQ is just one of several Knicks shooting for shit, but his other numbers are very good and his effort cant be denied. Fournier is the only benchable guy this early... the other 4 all have huge paydays kicking in. Gotta work that out (or trade Randle.... just a thought)
blkexec @ 11/4/2022 2:00 PM
I believe we are all feeding into the issue. We (or Thibs) are too rigid with these rotations and lineups. Basically I don't think we have 1 lineup that works against every team.

For example:

If RJ was at the 2 against ATL, Murray wouldve been forced to guard RJ instead of locking up Brunson. Murray type players are like kryptonite to Brunson. Murray is just as fast, just as quick, but 5 inches taller and longer than Brunson. Gotta keep these types of guards away from Brunson by playing someone tall and long next to him.

A below average defender can hide against us, but simply putting him on Fournier. Players problem fight over guarding EF, because it's an easy task. IQ would be a much harder player to guard because IQ used a lot of pick and rolls or movement off the ball. Plus IQ is a 3 level scorer. So T.Young would've had an issue guarding him and it would've been a different game.

So enough with this one lineup fits all move. Why can't we have 3 different lineups to use depending on the matchup's. Thibs doesn't seem like that type of coach. He wants to find a starting 5 / rotation that works and stick to it. But I don't think we are talented enough to do that. Some teams will exploit our weaknesses like putting a tall defender on Brunson. Once you stop Brunson, we look like the same ole knicks.

BigDaddyG @ 11/4/2022 2:02 PM
I'm looking for RJ to have a good game, assuming they stick PJ on Randle. I'm also banking on Mitch having another 5 foul game.
LivingLegend @ 11/4/2022 2:40 PM
The line-up change is interesting.

Right away you assume Grimes but not sure that is right move right now.

Quick is interesting because he can defend/rebound but more importantly he could allow Brunson to play off the ball more which he did a lot in Dallas off both Luka & Dinwiddie.

I think Brunson much more dangerous off the catch where can attack vs bringing ball up under pressure or with defense set to push him where they prefer.

Would put our bench pg in question but between Brunson/Quick/Rose that should work out

Nalod @ 11/4/2022 2:58 PM
Not thinking they will push Grimes minutes just yet.
If Thibs is making a change how rigid can a man be after just 7 games?
Last year Sims played Emiid well? Thats some fouls we can burn and tire him out as well.
Save Mitch for later and keep him fresh as not to make bone head fouls?

Quick on Maxy is compelling.

Heard its Alec Burks.

However, the start was not the problem against the Hawks. It was the rest of the game.

HofstraBBall @ 11/4/2022 3:36 PM
I let everyone down the last two games. We were 3-1 by simply posting a pic of our best asset. Wont happen again.
