When your coaching for your life, the best usually comes out.

How do you know he’s coaching for his life? Has there been an article? Did someone say that to you?

Nah, Obi is finally proving he can't hit a three. Cam is showing why some think he can play in this league.

HofstraBBall @ 11/5/2022 10:00 AM
Trade Randle. Trade EF. Cam is a bum. Fire Thibs. Start Grimes....
Wait we won? Nevermind. All good!!

Good game by Obi tonight. Still our highest percentage 3pt shooter. Big change from his first two years at 30%. Hope he keeps this hot start going. Believe start by Grimes was more due to back to back. Maybe EF starts tonight? Definitely not the best competition but great to see the team not give up and play hard to pull this one out.

Game ball goes to hofstra for starting the thread properly

Randle hitting his FTs was huge. Reddish earning minutes for D

Glad about the randle obi success but calibrate expectations going forward. Some of that success could also be due to philly not preparing for That

Let’s keep it rolling!!

A win is a win. Only good teams can complain about how those wins come and we are not there yet. But this was an ugly game. Especially in the first half with all the turnovers. But there was a lot to get excited about! First, Grimes is now the starter! It's going to take him a few games to shake off the rust having missed training camp but long term, this is the right move imo. We need a 3&D guy in the SL and if Grimes can give us what Bullock gave us in 2021, we are fine. But Grimes can do so much more than Bullock! I think his playmaking and one on one ability is underrated. Second, we got to see Obi play extended minutes with Randle and it worked! So proud of Obi for improving that jumper! He's shooting with a lot of confidence and making them! I really REALLY hope this opened Thibs eyes and he feels more comfortable with playing that duo. I agree with him that it's not the perfect fit defensively but we have a lot of advantages offensively. And finally, Reddish! Dominated that fourth quarter! His defense was great and he made key shots! I loved that baseline euro-step! He's the only player on the roster with that skillset and must play!

And kudos to Randle for making the clutch FTs. But he's starting to go back to last season's Randle with holding the ball and the turnovers! There needs to be a no iso Randle rule and he's not allowed to hold onto the ball for more then two seconds.

I’ve watched Thibs for 3 years up close. If we had lost this game Thibs might not have lasted long. Obi and Cam saved his job. Thibs is reaching right now. All I have to say is about time!

Was in the camp that Obi/Randle wasnt a good idea, will be happy to be wrong, if this keeps up.
Mitch hurt again, early in the season. Would'nt mind seeing a Rolo for Simms trade. He's older but can still give a team productive minutes off the bench. He also sets picks better than anyone on the team right now.

Not so sure starting Grimes right after coming off an injury. Having to defend starters right off the bat, was a good idea. Would have waited to sit Fournier, would have pulled him sooner in the first quarter, before benching him this early.

When Brunson isnt hitting his shots, and not playmaking, he's an average PG. Dont expect him to turn into a pass first PG. A pass a little more PG would be nice. Like Ramtour said in another thread, drive and kick.

Who knows what , or if Simms becomes something but trades like that destroy any possible future for a team.

Please explain how trading for Rolo (a bench player making 2 mil) will singlehandedly wreck the teams' future.

I loved the DRose, IQ, Grimes, Cam, Fournier minutes distribution and rotation.

And if Rose and Fournier don’t got it, sit them.

"Thibs coaching for his life" is some laughable stuff. What room are you reading? Not one Thibs is in...

The Grimes start was puzzling. Wally was right on the post game... what?s the infatuation? Didnt play in camp, hasnt been able to get into games, why do you start him when you have Cam/IQ playing well in spurts and offer different things over Fournier? BTW Grimes was -20 (how he managed that is beyond me)

Obi is shooting his way into more minutes. Sometimes coaching isnt rocket surgery. You play guys when they are hitting shots.

KNicks are missing shots, its "phucking Thibs sucks"
Thibs makes good rotations as per the opponent on the floor "Obi and Cam saved his job"

You are a broken record. Also my sources tell me Thibs job is not in question but in fact they will extend him after this season

This is my frustration with Thibs- he is going to play guys that perform, but minutes are never at risk for RJ or Randle and Obi who is shooting strong is still struggling to find minutes. He finally got burn with Randle- something he has seemingly resisted despite positive evidence.

Equally as strange is the Cam was +19 in the same amount of minutes, some times it is just the ebb and flow.

Rocket surgery?!?

yeah its surgery on phucking rockets and that sheet is complicated. Playing Cam/Obi when they are hitting shots and making plays on D not complicated.

Why you got Rockets need stitching?
