We need a lift against the Nyts.

Durant is carrying that team to respectable level. Without him they are Tankalicious. With a swap of 1sts on the table with Rockets this year it makes sense to tank as future suckatudes will not be rewarded. Rockets are trending for the Alien. If nets suck the too might be right there. But, while they could finish with top pick and have to give it to Rockets, they might be at 2nd and Nets could get scoot. Weird. With ticket sales low and Kyrie worthless and Durant playing great it makes sense to take the financial hit and move forward. Bring back Atkinson or similar type move. Trade Joe Harris also and reboot with as many picks as you can. Rehab Simmons either to keep or trade. Its a small window. NBA GM's will rape them on deals for Durant. The Contract alone is problematic. Think GSW? They could return some nice yoot but the salary is another issue. GSW seems intent on kicking the can down the road and make sure that building stays profitable beyond Dray/Klay and eventually Steph.
I can fathom Nets trading Durant. I just can't see where he lands without gutting a good team. Its why GSW makes sense in part.

Orlando? Issac contract as centerpiece? They won't compete though.
Miami? Fuckers always figure this shit out. Bam as centerpiece with Hero? Lowrey's contract is awful but the money can be used.
Toronto with Siakim is very logical. They want to keep Scottie.
Knicks: Randle/EF contract gets it done as centerpiece. I assume Nets want picks/yoot after that. Nalod not down for that given Durants age but it would be fun for a year or two. Keeping them all in the same market creates some publicity issues. Often you want players out of the conference let alone the city! Low probability for many reasons!
Lakers: Base Westbrook salary for AD? Not logical. Their picks for 27' and 29' is a long way off.
PHX: Ayton to start with but they would be depleted unless they go Ayton/Paul for Durant and Kyrie and go for it. Team for sale thats unlikely. Ayton is an asset.
Utah: LOL
Thunder: "coming home".....They have the yoot/picks and could cobble together a compelling trade but do they want to? I doubt it.
Mavs: pair with Luka would be fun. Not much depth there to trade and remain decent. Cuban go do it then trade Luka at some point when this run is over. Lets be real, Luka gonna get thick and start to break before 30.

Nets fucked themselves and Sean Marks dug them out once before with the Russian. Im under the belief this reiteration of starphuch has to be on Joe Tsai as it was a big money gamble and few teams would refuse the opportunity including Knicks! "go big or go home". I admire the gumption regardless of how crazy it has unfolded. Lets be real, Durant had them one toe to the finals. It almost worked. That covid and Kyrie happened was unforeseen as it did.
I know most knick fans enjoy the failure but it was actually that close to being successful.
As an NBA fan I see Nets dilemma and how they will handle it fascinating.

F-ing brilliant mate

Did you know the Knick have NEVER beaten Ben Simmons? He's 14-0 life time vs. the Knicks.

That makes me sick. Like this must be updated asap

Knicks riding the same losing streak his meds are. Hopefully both turn around.

No, it wouldn't be fun at all. Mr. Softie turned us down, mocked us while doing it and wouldn't last a week here before demanding another trade. Personally I don't want sloppy seconds and could never root for him.

I assume the reports of Nets players tuning out their coach and not accepting accountability also include Kevin Durant. I'd rather stick with the youth rebuild. We don't need no stinking' Doorant

Think the only reason Durant stuck around is because they convinced him they had the talent to make a run at a chip this year. And that if they could not do it, they would move him to where ever he wants to go. Which would be somewhere ready to win. Not the Knicks or some of others mentioned. Sunno. Maybe Miami? Clips? Suns? Thought of Minny as well in where they keep Towns.
Problem for Nets is they they thought that but had a bet on the biggest and most expensive "turnaround chase" in NBA history. That being a kid that is clearly screwed in the head.

Still think before this story is over, the Nets will be right in the chase. As screwed up as Kyrie and Simmons are, they are one of the few teams that have the combined talent to compete for a chip. As I just said, their biggest obstacle will be Ben Simmons. If he can start playing like he did in Philly or they can move him for a decent talent. Shooter probably. They can change that bad toe memory.

he shot it well in college... it was one of the reasons I thought he could be fantastic. He's a work in progress but part of why trying to win and playing .500 makes sense. Obi/IQ/RR/Mitch/Hart/Grimes/Cam... all these guys are 24 or under and in the rotation. Nows the time to coach em up and see how good they can be.

with those Obi numbers, shouldn't we be asking why isn't there more PnR and PnPop with him?

Obi does such a good job moving without the ball that it's probably more effective using the PnR with whatever center he's paired with out of Mitch, Hart and Sims. But I would like to see more Obi PnR action when he's paired with Randle.

My criticism of Thibs is maybe we could be more creative. I mean, imagine Obi on GS or Mavs? And not just the personal that would get him open looks, its their total coaching/development/philosophy.

I know we have some limiting factors- I don’t know if Randle is a natural read the defense kind of guy- and no offense meant, not everyone is. But I think with Obi, RJ, Brunson, IQ, EF, you have some guys that can move the ball quickly with passes, and understand how to get open.

You can’t be more creative until you can get your players to do the standard, simple things first. And it doubly hard when you don’t have competent, higher level PGs and more so when you are involving young players who are learning on the job.

This ain’t rocket science.

The Knicks have to take back NY tonight .. Which should become an easy win tonight at Barkley center.
In the off season, I did wonder bout the contender Brooklyn Nets ball-movement this season having dribble-dribble Durant, and dribble-dribble Kyrie, plus Ball handler Simmons LOL
