Love his mid range game. So much better than watching guys yank up three point shots at high click.
Really impressed with his turnover ratios. Saw him in person and did not realize how quick he was. Been proving me wrong. Never thought he would be able to handle the pressure of being a big signing in NY. He has shown he is up for the challenge and has the heart to succeed here. When he gets others going, he is what we have wished for for years.
Can't remember the last legit guard we had with WS48 above around .180. Can't remember what legit player we had (non center) with win shares that high. He does so much for this team and is so talented. Still not the best, but hes great value.

I can see this and am interested to see how it plays out.
I think there are 3 things the Knicks are trying to do at the same time on offense and we shall see how well each is doing over the course of the year:
1) Get ball out of Randle/RJ's hands as offensive creators and get them in positions as outlet scorers/passers. This means more usage for Brunson.
2) Push pace. Tightly integrated with #1 but also grabbing rebound and pushing ball for lots of players.
3) Types of shots guys are taking: rim and 3pts.
IMO those are hard things cause it's done at the team level. Watching this evolve and then how Brunson handles and adjusts it will be interesting.

Just looked at the Hollinger stats on ESPN. You can debate if he's a top 15 point guard. But in terms of production to date, those Internet murmurs about him being overpaid seem real dumb.
To give you a guard comparison, Tony Parker also had phenomenal footwork in the paint. I think he lead the NBA one year paint points. Brunson is not as quick, but both had a knack for scoring in the paint and shot a high %.

This is what I was hoping for when we signed Brunson...Randle and RJ still lead the team in usage, though. Hopefully, as the year progresses, Randel and RJ's usage declines and Brunson's continues to ascend

Sometimes it's about the type of usage too.
Randle slowly bringing the ball up the court and initiating offense by posting up and then jump passing is different than Brunson zooming up and Randle being a wrecking ball down low with the ball in his hands. Or if RJ's possessions are all downhill towards basket with purpose. Not perfect examples but you get the idea.
I don't think the Knicks are going to get away from much lower usage from RJ/Randle and maybe that's OK.
To me he looks like Mark Jackson and Rod Strickland had a kid.

Agree. Not sure I agree with Tim Duncan comparison, but hey we won and JB played great. Don't want to deflect from that.
I hope this comparison is real. That means JB will bring a chip to NYC. So those are bold claims Briggs. Lets see how you feel on his bad games.
Jalen Brunson is the best FA decision the Knicks have made in the past 10 years. Even with his defensive limitations, his benefit on offense is transformative. If we can get Grimes back into his groove and RJ is done shooting 15% from 3, this team can start winning some games at a better clip and get to that 6th seed.
Briggs is saying JB's fundamentals are very strong. They are. CP3 might be added in this DNA to some degree. Paul is a stronger playmaker but you can't make plays if you can't score and draw defenders.
JB and Timmy both used the glass very effectively. JB high glass use is a masterclass.
Randle does push the ball and pass it forward. WE talk like he never does.
RJ Last night was a good sample of less is more. He gets to the line. Good. he gets blocked, "OMG, why did we pay him!!!!!"
JB dribble in the paint and craftyness is Nash like. His points in paint is Parker like.
If anyone is Mark Jax is IQ as the shooting stroke is similar. IQ a better Defender now, Jax the assist maker. JB good getting to the glass, as was jax.

Jalen is making the most of physical skills and abilities and he does it with his super hi BB IQ. That is what we need to rub off.
I mean, imagine if IQ had Jalen's savvy, or vice versa? You would be talking clear all star and maybe top generational player.

Brunson is more similar to baron davis. He’s not as fast as Parker but he can post up
