Knicks · Grimes has to set better on his J (page 1)

BRIGGS @ 11/22/2022 3:31 PM
Hes going at 110% which in sports is good. He looks fantastic and powerful taking it to the rack--but his shot is coming off hard and without much accuracy. It would be smart to watch how deliberate the Curry bros set up their 3 point shots. He needs to get his legs under him when he shoots take his time and follow better fundamentals. Hes hurrying the shot process too much.
Knixkik @ 11/22/2022 5:47 PM
It’s all rhythm. It will come around.
franco12 @ 11/22/2022 6:07 PM
are you offering to be the shooting coach for the Knicks? Because it cannot get worse!
ToddTT @ 11/22/2022 6:35 PM
Trade Randle!

I'll do it for a personalized video from Hart's fiance.

He passed on taking a catch & shoot 3 yesterday, then dribbled free & passed on taking a mid-range J, and then got blocked (or missed) on a drive...all on the same play.

I assume he has a confidence issue when taking his shot right now.

We really need him to get in a groove & take those open 3s.

First real full game back and shooting advice ensues. Lmao

Great advice, but RJ is the one looking for help. What’s your advice and don’t say trade Randle. Answer already taken.

As a shooter myself. Just came from the gym. Grimes is fine. RJ is RJ. Sometimes what you see is what you have. The key is are you a work a holic always looking to improve? (RJ) or someone just looking for a bag? RJ takes this game serious, regardless if his skill set isn’t at our expectations.

But Grimes jumper will come once he get his legs back to full strength. Jumpers all about the legs. Look back at RJ when he’s off and when he’s on. Last game his legs had more lift and pop on his jumpers. Grimes will regain that same lower body strength over time and watch out. Cause he’s that 4th player most teams need. And he has confidence like he’s the number 1 option, yet he’s also unselfish and doesn’t need to dance with the ball to impact the game, that’s key for a player in the starting unit built around 3 ball dominate players (JB, RJ, Ju)

Not worried at all. What I worry about is what happens when we are full strength? We have so many roll players it’s crazy, and no chief. I think the 3 main guys all take turns. If all 3 average 20 I think that’s a success.

Briggs helped RJ the other night. All it takes is a separate thread to get his attention!

As a shooter as well, we both know it's mostly about confidence.
Secondly, it's absolutely about your legs in game situations. Especially when one factors is covering a guy like SGA..
Agree that we should not be worried about Grimes.
RJs issues is all about his confidence. He just needs to see a whole bunch more go through the net. Going to the basket early and getting some easy ones will help. Did so on Monday.

What's Steve Nash up to right now?

Right.

Need to talk more about THIS

I do feel like Grimes is the type of defender that refs will eventually (mostly always) give the benefit of the doubt to on D once he establishes himself more
Ira @ 11/24/2022 10:33 AM
He shot well from 3 last season, so I think he'll come around.

He’s playing well. He needs to take his time on his shot. Just slow the shot down a bit. He has a quick hard release so the shot is not as soft with less chance to go in. Take your time Quentin and don’t settle for the 3 either

TheGame @ 11/25/2022 3:49 PM
He is rushing and his balance is off. I am sure they did film with him over the past week to hopefully correct the issue. He is a very good 3 pt shooter, probably better than everyone on the team other than maybe Evan. His shot will be fine.

Yes, They did film at Briggs suggestion.
Looks like his misses were in and out, which is ok. Others when fell short was indicative of his conditioning not there yet.
That too will work itself thru.

If only Briggs can fix Deuce next?
