Easy way to upgrade our shooting. He is currently shooting 42% from 3 with Detroit. Will be a UFA next offseason after pistons opt out. We could definitely get him here on a one year deal he seemed to like being here. His shooting declined last season but he was forced to play point guard the entire year

You’re not wrong. He’s been a steady 40% 3pt shooter the last 3 years and holds his own defensively unlike Fournier. He got moved to get Brunson so it was worth it, but I’d love him back.
Burks is fine as long as he is not running the point.

Luckily we have a PG now.

No, he's wrong. Why bring back a 31yo who will be 32 next year?
Knicks got Grimes, IQ, Cam who are all in the 23yo range and have plenty of time to improve their 3pt shooting. Plus, they can hit layups and all play good D.

Burks is the guy you get when you need bench depth on an MLE or some portion less. Solid player. Deserves a role on a team. But for a team struggling to find its identity, you don’t really want a Burks to be that identity. You want him to glue up the cracks in the rotation.

Knicks badly need someone who can shoot that can also stay on the floor defensively

Unfortunately, I think they need to find their leader of the pack to do that before filling in the roster with solid rotation guys. In the context of a roster overhaul that lands a star pairing, I’m delighted with Burks coming back. But to be an average player on this roster that needs to develop or decimate, I don’t think it’s the right position.

I don’t disagree at all. I see both sides of this.
No thanks.
Maybe if we have another HC but Thibs likes Burks way too much.

They badly need their own guys to start shooting better. Not worried about it at all, they can improve.
Plus, it's a sneak development tank.

Martin finding new ways to take shots at RJ. 😂

Nope. Knicks fans are not allowed to have shinny things. They don't appreciate shit!
We only like other teams garbage. And unproven hopefuls. Until we get/play them and realize the guys we gave up on were much better.
Nope, Move forward not back.
yes we need shooting. Its expensive to panic and if this is our year to suck, well so be it.
Not going to pine away for next season "coming home" for Alec Burks. He came, was a good knick, now time to develop guy like Grimes and incoming rooks.
My guess is one of IQ or Obi is gone next year. I like them but they are not moving the needle and they will get paid. Not a blame thing.
Always liked Burks. He could shoot and play D. I think they would've gotten rid of Fournier if they had the chance but just unlucky it didn't work that way

That was me taking a dig at Burks and unknowingly backhanding RJ at the same time lol

He won’t be. I promise
