Knicks · To many lefties (page 1)

Vmart @ 11/29/2022 2:34 PM
This team is carrying three left handed players and they are considered their best three players. History has shown that left handed player that are the best in the team rarely if ever carry their team to the championship. Let’s look to the past, three or four left handed players come into mind that won playing a major role in their team’s success. Bosh, David Robinson, Manu Ginobili, and the Captain Willis Reed I’m sure I’m missing a few. It can be argued that all these players mentioned were not the main cogs on their team. With the players mentioned it can be argued that there were players substantially better than them. Robinson and Manu well Duncan was the driving force of that team. Bosh well Le Bron and Wade were the main players. Reed it could be argued that Walt was the main player. I know lefties are a lot less in the league and can be great players but the odds of three lefties on one team and they are the main players in it highly unlikely they accomplish anything. If anyone is doing analytics they have to take this into consideration.

The Knicks need a dominant right handed player if they want to make noise. If this were baseball I would want left handed batters. A left handed pitcher that throws high 90s. Unfortunately in basketball it doesn’t come as easy for them.

Its estimated 10% of world's population is left handed.

4 lefties if you include hart. At one point the Knicks had 4 of the 5 starters all lefty.

The FO needs and I’m sure already doing this. Take a step back and see who u rather keep and trade. I don’t think those 3 will lead us to the promise land. One of them should be traded (RJ or Randle).

So in the movie Donnie Brasco his nickname was Lefty. But I’m other scenes it was Lefty Guns and in others Lefty 2 Guns. Which one is it?

These guys are making millions. Is it too much to ask them to be ambidextrous? Practice!!!

I watched a video on top 10 most lopsided nba trades ever. Starks, Cummings and trash for Sprewell in his prime you can make a case should be on the list

I will accept simply finishing.

LOL!!!!!
Am I the only one that sees this thread topic as utter nonsense?
OP says few NBA stars are lefties. If the human race only has 10% of them, is it not to be expected NBA follows suit?
Or has VMart winning a nobel prize for this medical discovery?
I do think knicks propensity for lefties is interesting but is it the cause of our mediocre output?

Maybe we should be looking if we have the right mix of zodiac signs.

That, and predraft interviews should include past life regressions as well. Blood type too.

We all know that RJ and Brunson are actually Righties who actually just shoot left so that really only leaves Randle and we all know he needs to be trades.

So, trade Randle! You know this was coming

Under the misguided aegis of the powerful Catholic Church, left-handedness was vigorously oppressed in medieval Europe, albeit not in any systematic way. Left-handers were routinely accused of consorting with the devil and, during the excesses of the Inquisition and the witch hunts of the 15th and 16th Century, left-handedness was sometimes considered sufficient to identify a woman as a witch, and to contribute to her subsequent condemnation and execution.

18th and 19th Century
Despite the limited reforms of the Age of Reason and the Age of Enlightenment, the 18th and 19th Century were particularly hard on left-handers, and discrimination against them became engrained and institutionalized. Even in the relatively free societies of North America and Western Europe, deliberate and sometimes brutal attempts to suppress left-handedness and impose conformity in the education system were endemic during this time, including such practices as tying a child’s left hand behind his chair or corporal punishment for anyone caught writing with the left hand.

The infamous (but influential) 19th Century physician Cesare Lambroso, who identified various facial and racial characteristics with criminal traits, turned his attention to handedness at the end of the century and the start of the next and, perhaps not surprisingly, he identified left-handedness as a mark of pathological behaviour, savagery and criminality.

“Too many”? All humor aside, Why is this an issue? Do they not defend right handed players as well? If so, is the disadvantage not reciprocated when on offense?

Defensive GOAT, and left handed Bill Russell says hi with is 11 rings.
Is it rare because 90% of humans are right handed? Or is there a deficiency about left handers? Physical? Mental? Social?
