Fournier Rose and Reddish add up to a lot of salary. Maybe Terry Rozier? I think that New York would have to throw in some draft picks but if I'm Charlotte I just go all in with the tank.

Not that far-fetched we creat significant cap space in 2023:

Projected nba salary cap 2023-2024 is $134 million

We are currently at $133.9 million next year and that number includes Cam(qualifying offer) and Rose(team option)

Eliminate rose and cam and we are at about $111 million and that’s if we do nothing except not pick up Rose option and don’t resign Cam

We can possibly salary dump Fournier’s contract. He’s essentially an expiring contract next season as 2024 is a team option. We would have to give up a pick tho

Nice while it lasted Grimes

So eventhough I've wanted Deuce in the lineup from day 1, I'm still surprised Thibs made this move. This is what I thought Thibs would do before he came here. I always thought Thibs was the type of coach not afraid to go against the norm. And benching DRose is huge. Benching Cam still doesn't make since to me, but I'm not in practice or in the locker room. But removing those 3 guys is the addition by subtraction moves we need to do. And if this rotation move brings a smile to Randle's face and mine since Deuce is in the rotation, I can't be mad at Thibs. Nice job sir! Continue to read our UK rants.

Fourier, Rose, Reddish can't get minutes as a wing or guard, how to you expect to have Rozier get minutes? What's the purpose of that player behind Grimes, McBride, RJ, Brunson to the amount of ~$23M per over 3 remaining years?

martin @ 12/8/2022 12:08 PM
Just a guess but I'd gather that the Woj report is just Chicago putting feelers out there, and the best way to do that is through Woj. And the best way for Woj to hit his weekly or monthly clickbait requirements on his contract, is to just intimate that the Knicks are "watching" the situation.

Eh, not much there IMHO unless Knicks are OK moving RJ in that situation.

Leon and Thibs are homies. Grimes is Thib's new favorite toy. There's no way he's going anywhere unless Anthony Davis comes back

Rose, Fournier, Cam all have good value is various situations.

Yup. And for the Knicks it's bench warming

All of those shooter contracts like Fournier, Bertans , Joe harris and Duncan Robinson, all of them aged terribly. Curious how that changes specialist shooter contracts going forward.

Thibs liked Zach too. And then he traded him for Jimmy Butler.

Thibs is into the MILF category. He'll do the barely legal thing if he has to, but he wants them well matured. A little wear and tear on the knees doesn't hurt.

you know that rep doesnt match what' happening... I see a lot of horsing around with the young guys. He rode Grimes for 40 minutes the other night.

I posted a Chicago/LA/NY mock trade a few days ago

Shouldn’t we just cut to the chase and find out how many more Knicks the Mavs want, and what they’ll give us in return?

Luka is the only guy on the Mavs that I would want to trade for.

I would also hate to trade any of the guys we have drafted. Unless it is for a clear-cut upgrade that fills a real team need.

There is huge narrative value in winning a championship with home-grown talent, with whom fans would identify more than with some hired mercenaries.

Yeah, he was looking at Grimes, but he was imagining him with Josh Okogie's face.
