Dude brings it

Clean @ 12/12/2022 9:00 AM

He is a menace on D. Quick and Mitch with the excellent help. My issue still exists with the weakside defender being too far in the paint but luckily the ball handler did not look to the corner. Grimes was not needed in the paint but him being there gave an easy out to the jump passer. McBride being all in his Jersey probably made that corner pass hard to see.

Another good win.
Randle running through opposing PFs. As our best player, has to have the brains to not get thrown out.
RJ with good all around game.
Bounce back game for JB minus the injury
Hart having more impact than Obi.
Grimes 3pt shot is still in 2021. Confident it will return if he keeps shooting.
Our 3pt defense has drastically improved.

F the haters. We are playing well.

Some of the 'haters' knew this team could do better. Not everyone is about trading Randle and blowing things up.

Thibs must have an a dream with McBride, because that one move may save the season. A little bit like a story about GS moving Green to the second unit.

McBride is tenacious. If you are out there with him, watching him defend, your dead to the world if you don't also respond with similar effort.

Deuce has been great.
Got to also give a lot of credit to Thibs making adjustments to our 3pt defense. Which has been good in past years. Emphasis has been on taking that away. Which easier when MR is in to keep penetration contained. Some on here do not have the insight to notice that is what allows wings to face guard the three point line.

Randle is a good piece. Not a number one or even 2 on a very good team but definitely a physical force that most teams need. He is also one of few that demand a double team. If he cuts down on 3pt attempts, turnovers and gets his head straight he is a plus. Think we have seen that he is figuring out that he still needs to be the alpha despite JB and RJ taken turns being so at times. Just that it has to include passing and smart play as well.

I love how we have been getting a lead in the 1st Q and not ever giving it back. Randle took an awkward fall on the ejection play but I didn't really see anything that warranted his reaction. Sac was hitting our guys while in the air all game and the refs didn't call anything, why would they stop? RJ is going to have to learn that there are 4 other guys on the court when Randle is out instead of pounding the ball into dust but he did bully his was to some critical scores down the stretch so it wasn't the end of the world. But still.....move the ball RJ, you don't have good handles. Brunson is a tough dude. The ball movement in the first half was glorious. We are scoring easily when the ball moves. The combo of IQ, Grimes and Deuce are really getting into the other teams guards shit.

Fun game but the 4th Q was a little stressful. Good clock management down the stretch. We are starting to learn how to win games. 3 more winnable games to go before we lock up with GS again.

crunch time you get a guy who closes things out. RJ did that. He did what the coach wanted. He passed plenty in the game. Some good, some great, some not.
For years we wanted someone to close things out. We have three guys that can. Be happy. RJ is 22. I'll say this 100 more times. Randle and Brunson are our closers. RJ is learning.
HE executed. ALl that matters.

Oh, I'm happy with the win. Mitch played great with 5 fouls. It was a team effort. RJ's turnovers, missed shots, missed free throws and over dribbling stood out to me as things that put us in a bad position too close if not for the defense of Mitch, Grimes, Deuce and IQ. The effort was there for all five. Thank goodness we had a big lead when Brunson went out. The closing 5 were able to hold the lead with great defensive effort

I was wrong on Randle. That said, not gonna apologize for the claims to play the youth. The fact that we are winning now that they are playing doesn't make me wrong. I was wrong on Randle because I thought it was wishful thinking to believe he could return to his 2020 prowess, that statistically, that season was the outlier, not the norm. Now, he has raised his eFG by 80 bps from last season, mostly taking better shots. His 3pt% went from 30 to 33%, but in the last 4 games he has been pretty hot. So, that number may continue to improve.

The greatest way to silence critics in sports is to win. The way this team is now playing with the youth getting minutes is all I ever wanted. So, why complain?

When Brunson went down it was Randle that made the quick foul and bolted to the other end to console Jalen and just be there. Its obvious he really like Brunson but I have seen nothing but good from Randle this year. He's so physical he really makes it tough on the refs but he makes it even tougher on other teams. He SUCKS to play against. He's dirty and there's tons of elbows and knees when he plays but phuck if we dont need that and he's a big part of a big physical team that gets after you

I mean, I asked for more Dray, right? Not looking to sucker punch your teammate, but man I don’t mind him getting physical in the trenches. He’s got a exceptionally strong physical build and should use every ounce of it to his advantage.

I didn’t pick up that he stopped the game for Jalen.
