Knicks · Barrett and Randle (page 1)

They were both playing like gluteus maximus to start the season but if they can continue the way they are playing, we should be able to compete against anyone, flaws and all.

PS… those calls on Barrett at the end, last night were BS.

RJ never gets any calls. It’s really become egregious

Maybe RJ and Julius lift their value to the point where we can bring in a real star. RJ is doing a better job reeling in his destructive impulses. Julius still needs to do a better job of passing out of doubles, but hopefully that becomes less of an issue with JB over the course of the season. Important because of this does make it to the postseason, teams will eat Randle up like Atlanta did two seasons ago.

I'm so glad you created this thread. I've said several times, RJ and Randle can not play together and one has to go. Well, I have to give them their props yesterday. Both looked good at the same time. And JB looked good as a closer. RJ jumper was consistent and Randle was a monster. Still some ISO ball here and there, but I think that's the freedom Thibs gives his players. It's going to be up to JB to help improve the team offense in crunch time, which is why we gave him the big bucks. And so far, he's delivered.

But I agree 1000% and if they (RJ and Randle) can become more consistent NBA players (RJ in particular), the skies the limit.

Great thread to start the optimism off early, after a solid OT win. RIP Caruso. JB put this boy to sleep. That's how you protect your fellow teammates (after he made Deuce hit the floor). Then JB had some words after, loved it.

Should also add that RJ is shooting better at the rim with at a rate of 63% ( according to BBall Reference). Still below league average, but an increase from last year. Baby step.

Unfortunately, it's going to be baby steps for RJ for the time being. That 3rd or 4th year jump that most high level guys get mostly likely won't set it.

Long way to average, longer way to anything above that.

Completely agree. This is what it looks like when they are both playing to their abilities. If they can make it to the playoffs, we see what Brunson did there last year. You can see some semblance of a dangerous team here.

Grimes is the key. His defense is contagious and if Randle can keep his head up and kick the ball out the court is going to open up for everyone.

The rotation is really solid right now. A little less isolation from Randle and Barrett and this team can be really dangerous. Could use another tough guy out there.

A Malik Beasley type player would be great to anchor down the defense.
