Yesterday's Cuban rant was all theater to set up sitting the team for this game. Disgusting.

That game was disgusting for the NBA

Cuban is relieved. Culture in Dallas is at an all-time low.
LivingLegend @ 4/7/2023 11:15 PM
Doesn’t Luka have some ownership here to say FU I’m playing to get in the playoffs?

Wondering what guys like Jordan, Bird, Magic, Kobe would say in that situation - but oh well I’m just pissed they were able to weasel into the top 10.

Hopefully karma is waiting and GOD FORBID if the NBA gifts them a top pick in the lottery.

Mavs fans are a mix between disgusted, embarrassed, and others that are delusional and think that they won’t suck next year as well.
martin @ 4/7/2023 11:25 PM
So you’re saying there’s a chance?

Did you see that tank job? They ain't losing.

LivingLegend @ 4/7/2023 11:43 PM
Isn’t San Antonio going to be trying to lose Sunday as well?
BigDaddyG @ 4/7/2023 11:57 PM
It's our fault for taking that joke of a franchise seriously. How can you count on organization when their franchise player shows up like this every year for training camp:
LivingLegend @ 4/8/2023 12:19 AM
To be completely honest —- thinking about this now.

If Knicks were in exact same situation with chance to get into play in as 10th seed or lose last game to keep a top 11-14 pick I’d want them to tank and keep the pick.

Am I alone here?

I meant winning. I am not used to teams wanting to lose.

I think the Knicks would go for the play in.

We always go for the honorable, but stupid. The rest of the league has been smarter than us.

Look, I also think tanking is disgusting, and yesterday's Mavs-Bulls game was an embarrassment. But for as long as Silver does not care and lots of other teams do it, why hold out?

I mean if we are getting fined for petty tampering then what the hell was that in Dallas??? Surely they have to face repercussions because imagine paying to watch that game.
TPercy @ 4/8/2023 4:11 AM
Also as I said in previous thread it’s not the end of world if we don’t get the pick. Not that many prospects to be high on in this draft.

Agreed. While it would have been nice to have the #11 pick, we got our two future stars at pick 25. As long as that Mavs first rounder eventually conveys, it should be somewhere in the 15-25 range. We just have to find another Quickley or Grimes.

Alpha1971 @ 4/8/2023 6:05 AM
I hope Dallas draft the next Kevin Knox or Dennis Mirh JR

Even if this happens- it’s not until the order is settled. They could be 10 heading in, and pushed back by someone behind them jumping into the top 4- hoping like mad for that, but honestly, this FO might prefer to keep the pick in the future so it can be bundled this off season for a move to improve the roster.

Little bit harder if the pick transfers and then you have to maybe include a player you drafted who the other team might not be as high on.

You don’t think fans enjoyed watching pinson and McKinley wright take turns jacking shots?

They are fighting with Houston for lottery positioning, so probably. And Detroit plays Chicago and Detroit doesn’t need to try to lose because their top odds are already locked in.
