The above said… if the player in question was the villain type, I would be a hypocrite in that situation, and would have been laughing my ass off at Wally’s comments.

OK - So Dolan said- any lawyer suing us can not come on to our premises. Because I’m petty!

The facial recognition is supposed to make the venue safe- and the lawyer might well have staged this for publicity.

I believe the firm is behind a suit I think saying if you have a liquor license, you can’t discriminate- and they do that with this ban. I think that is it. I might have been overlooking the bits that are important.

See that is a tech practice that I could see another law suit being filed for and a court decision being made on. Because it’s either legal or illegal but something needs to be on the books. Yes you can refuse service, but using technology to pinpoint a person for actions that normally wouldn’t lead to a ban could be seen as a form of harassment. It’s not a industry norm to ban lawyers from a venue.

The twist is they notified her of the ban, but still just because you wrote it on paper doesn’t make it legal… This feels like a lawsuit that gets bumped up to the appeals court because scholarly minds need to make a decision that sets precedent. I can’t see it going viral because it’s technical.

What’s really interesting is she is the exact person to do it to to lead to that lawsuit, and it’s eventual appeal. If it does go that far in the courts 100 years from now when Dolan is long dead, that might the lasting legacy of his life. A lawsuit on facial recognition

Seems like Congress or at least NY should issue legislation on this. I think we all support keeping public venues safe, but no one would be for denying service because you don’t like someone.

Dolan going down in history as a loser is definitely, sadly, probably in his future.

Classy would have been not saying such dumb stuff about Hali in the first place. I mean, one could never imagine Clyde saying anything dismissive about a player. Wally would do well to take some lessons on manners and decorum from Clyde.

I also do not understand how Wally got to be a commentator for MSG when he had virtually no ties to the Knicks at all.

I agree. While I think this story is dumb, I think letting this simmer is dumber. Say sorry, move on. What, did people want Wally to give him a thumbs down and tell him to STFU?
