I agree. While I think this story is dumb, I think letting this simmer is dumber. Say sorry, move on. What, did people want Wally to give him a thumbs down and tell him to STFU?

The kid is averaging 20pts 10.6ass 4.0rbs at 22, I would say he’s already an All Star and a top 5 young guard in the league.

We fucked up badly not drafting him, so I’m sure that’s where he was coming from.

I think you might be right. That said -- and I am not into "what if's"...but -- if we had drafted Hali (and I wanted us to) would we now have Brunson at the point? I really like Brunson.

While I think Wally got a little too excited, it’s not any worse than what Stephen A Smith says on a nightly about just about anyone. It seemed a little vindictive. Weird, out of character.

(We just got poor value with Obi, at least with the way he has been used by the Knicks. What was supposed to happen, drafting a PF when you already have an all-star PF?)

2020 was a really, realy bad draft. We actually got one of the best players in Toppin. Imagine you actually did draft a PG and you took Killian Hayes over Haliburton. I think Toppin is easily still one of the best 10 players in that draft, but just stuck in a situation here where he can't get minutes behind Julius.

Obi proved he can put up numbers when he’s got the minutes and the right role. But with Randle as a 35mpg+ player for the foreseeable future, it might be a good idea from a value standpoint to trade him sooner than later.

He’s more valuable to another team now because they get 1.5 years of him at rookie contract rate.

I’d be pretty upset if I were the Pistons and Hayes, but they moved on fast - it hasn’t stopped them from picking more and more PG-types (Cunningham and Ivey - and trading for Burks).
