This was a much needed win. I was really concerned in that first quarter when Houston was hitting all those threes. It really looked like it was a continuation of the Spurs game with poor defense. Credit to the guys for getting their act together and start playing real defense. We held the Rockets to 53 points after that first quarter for the game and 88 points on 38% shooting, 14/46 from three and caused 24 turnovers.
Game ball goes to Randle. He's been outstanding! Another game where he's being paid extra attention without Brunson and RJ and he still dropped 35/12/6. He probably won't get voted into the All-Star Game but he deserves strong consideration imo.
Great game by IQ too. He's done a good job filling in for Brunson these last 3 games. He's running the team as best he can and he's not turning the ball over. Helping out with his shooting and scoring too. Great bounce back games from Grimes and Robinson too. They were really bad against the Spurs and they both did their jobs. Grimes with 19 with 3 threes and Robinson with 12 boards and 3 blocks.
Let's hope we get Brunson and RJ back soon cause we desperately need them! And let's hope 2023 is a great year too!
