My summer league games was against Jordan hill and Gilbert areanus (agent zero). That’s not quite the same Would love to hear more about that. Partied with Clyde? How cool was that.
I remember seeing melo at a club which was cool. His head was above everybody else’s. Easy to spot.
But I love it. Witnessing the Knicks in their glory days is something the rest of us only dream of. Good stuff
Old but not my story......
Wilt pinned a shot by rookie to NBA and said to the kid "Welcome to the NBA"............
Soon after some Legend, might have been "Helicopter Hines" pinned a shot by Wilt and said "Welcome to Rucker!".....
Legend!

If I had a girlfriend or a wife and things were going bad with the relationship you would end it in a few years. But our relationship with the Knicks we keep on getting abused and used but we keep hanging in there.
Awesome question! I've been holding on to this thread for a little while now after returning from family time with Xmas and New Years. And Happy New Year to you!
The earliest Knicks teams I remember are the Riley Knicks (my first love was Showtime with Magic lead Lakers teams with Riles as they did battles with Larry and his Boston crew). Loved the hard core stuff with Ewing, Oak, Mase, Starks and all the bad boys of NY. The battles with Chicago.
The JVG years were awesome too, same with Linsanity.
I don't watch just for championship, I'm here for the process too. Much of it has been for crap over the years TBH but I think the Knicks are finally in a good place. FINALLY.
Because of the process part, I'm not as much in the bad relationship space when the L's pile up. It's refreshing quite honestly, but maybe it's cause I'm older now too and compartmentalize it more easily.
Not for nothing, and with a huge helping of IMHO, the Knicks are in the best place they have been since Riley has been here, from top to bottom for FO, coaching, and players.
And to that end, enjoy it while you can, the Knicks are on the cusp and in the mix of things. I think we are a second round team next season and things will look up from there.
I first starting watching Knicks games around 76-77. I had just moved back to NY and I was staying with my grandparents in Queens. They went to bed early and I would watch sports in the evenings. I was mostly a die hard Yankees fan but I also liked the Knicks and Rangers. Eventually in the 90’s I also discovered the Giants.
It’s been a long journey with the Knicks. They are my favorite obsession eclipsing all other sports. I don’t know what it is about basketball or this team but I am here for the ride wherever it goes
