He’s stepped up as a starter in RJ’s absence and the Knicks haven’t missed a beat. He’s a 2-way player who can impact a game many different ways and there’s no falloff against starters. He can guard elite guards and take advantage against defensive liabilities. The shooting consistency isn’t always there, but it’s not far off like it was. Knicks need to give him the big contract this summer because he’s proving to be a core piece going forward.
Agreed. You'll probably still have to include him in a big trade but he's not someone I'm giving away for a pick or another guard of his level.

You’re right. No doubt he’s the likely chip in a bigger trade, but I’m perfectly fine keeping him in his current role for an indefinite amount of time.
if he can continue to pick up tricks from JB, watch out. IQ can get anywhere on the court. If he can develop that consistency of shot, then he will be valuable.

YES.
Believe it or not, I think the same holds true for Hart showing Mitch and Jericho similar things for the big guys.
I think he.should stay as the starter and RJ should come off the bench. Knicks should finish games with some combo of Randle Brunson RJ IQ Grimes and Robinson.
RJ's usage is too high to be a snug fit with Randle and Brunson. Quickley provides spacing and ball movement. RJ can use his time to barrel into second string centers for points at the foul line.
I'm still looking forward to Quickley's all-around performance becoming one of the top-3 6th man of the season to get an extension in the offseason .. Quickley's talents are a future Knicks star.
The way so many NBA teams started the 2022-23 season was crazy .. A depleted Utah Jazz team grabbing a 10-3 record, and the championship GS Warriors started with a 6-9 record .... I thought the Knicks having a new young winning PG Brunson (Mark Jackson), plus refusing to trade Grimes in the offseason, plus a healthy D.Rose to start the season, plus a young dynamic combo guard Quickley in the 4 guard rotation was gonna bring the Knicks several win streaks in the first half of the season.
Coach Tom Thibs 9 or 8 or 7 man rotation to start the midseason games will lead to more injuries, the Knicks schedule is gonna be rough on the 35 minutes players

Grimes isn’t a forward though. RJ is a SF and that’s where he belongs. Grimes is 6’4 and needs to stay at SG. We need another big scoring wing off the bench.
IQ is a nice combo guard to have on the roster. Multi position or in the words of ex coach Fitz, positionless basketball is the way to go. Isiah Thomas was also great at drafting those types of positionless forwards.
But I believe IQ can be a great full time PG eventually. And playing behind or next to JB is a perfect learning opportunity for him. And he still has drose on the bench. It would be a travesty to invest all this into IQ just to trade him for a marginal gain. Unless it’s part of a instant championship move, I like him in this current hybrid role where he plays all over depending on injuries, matchups and rotations.
Wait until Obi is back and watch how much chemistry them 2 has. It’s really a nice group of players and if there’s no superstar available, let’s see what this team can do with a motivated Jules and JB the killa.
