Agreed. Keep saying we need a guy w cajones more than a superstar. Maybe Grimes will show that killer instinct?.. rj and Julius play tight in tight situations.

We have that guy. His name is Jalen Brunson. Cajones bigger than his above average sized cranium.

Beautiful 1st half.
Randle looked out of sorts 5 min in. They double dog dared him and he passed off.
Cool to see RJ smooth.
Second half? I could not bare it and fast forwarded it. Hey, Indy a good team and fought back but I hope we figure this shit out.
We won.
Fuck Skinny ass haliburton with a long shot that looks like he a middle school kid.
Beautiful first half……….
We won a home game.
few games ago my league pass got weird and I watched the toronto feed. Very complimentary on knicks.
We played well. It matters.
Indy been a hot team, as clyde said won 8 of 10 since we beat them. I’ll take it.
Panos @ 1/11/2023 10:47 PM
Kind of shocking how little the bench played. It was really a 6 man rotation.

Quentin needs more time in fourth

I wouldn't.
It was a nail biter. Seen this script before.
Much relieved

You should've invited DSJ over and conversed about FVV being a bad signing compared to someone like Jalen Brunson. Naw, you don't deserve that misery. Should've just found a feed somewhere.

Yeah, it would've sucked to make it through hump day only to end it with another collapse. It's much easier to appreciate how solid a team Indiana is after we've won

I'm a big Barrett fan. He choked but he has shown some clutch gene in the past. I like Grimes. Have we forgotten all of Grimes' mental lapses, late fouls, and getting trapped during the tight situations of that losing streak?

The only person I consistently trust in the clutch on this team is Brunson. Everyone else is sketchy at best.

KnickDanger @ 1/11/2023 11:27 PM
I believe it was a win. We continue to grow.
Clean @ 1/12/2023 1:54 AM

This guy is my Knicks fan spirit animal. Can't even be really happy with a win because its the same problems that happen every game and we continue to repeat them. We could be up 35 points by half time and all I am thinking about is how are we going to lose this lead. There is no way we should be struggling to beat these teams missing most of their best players. The poster above talking about we continue to grow. This is a 2 season thing. Whatever growth you are seeing must be by the smallest increments humanly possible.
Chandler @ 1/12/2023 7:56 AM
Before we over react too much let’s not forget Indiana has been very good in the 4th and at coming from behind

Bucks are still a great team, and Luka is from another planet

Yes we need to improve at closing out but it’s doable and there are many good things going on starting w team chemistry

Kid has been better than expected. If you think about it, he is the only player on the roster with deep playoff experience. Not to mention he was involved in some tough series and many close games in the playoffs. We need more guys like that. Other teams like the Bucks have most of their roster like that.

Hopefully our youngins continue to win and get that type of experience.

How were we able to beat a team with Tyrese Halliburton? He’s like the greatest player ever

His mental mistakes are confounding.

I watched the post game. Thibs said "we wanted to let him work through some things..."

Does that mean stupidity? The brain farts are tough, but RJ is young and all these guys are inexperienced closing games

Think the problem is their are very few guys on the trade market that will check all the boxes like Brunson did.

Young
Playoff/Pressure experience
Attainable
Skilled enough to make a difference
Plays a position of need
On a team willing to surrender them
Healthy

I can think of guys that check off some boxes, like Crowder, Beasley, Hardaway, Eric Gordon, Hayward, Josh Hart, Ross...

Then they need to be able to afford them.

Could it possibly be a minutes/rotation problem? Limiting to a 9 man rotation means the starters will play heavy minutes even during the 1st three quarters of the game leaving them gassed in the 4th.

Its just hard to complain with the results, 6th in the east half way through the season. thibs' minutes management system just burns his players out, im worried when the playoffs comes the team wont have a next gear but might need to maintain it at a low gear while in the playoffs.

Thibs needs to trust more players to prepare the team in the playoffs.

BigDaddyG @ 1/12/2023 10:21 AM
Sorry this happened. But it could help Randle and Brunson's All Star bid.

Its about Randle not trying to play heroball, when he isnt feeling it. Last night was a welcome change.

when they do they lose big leads... pick your poison.

We blow leads people cry "why doesnt Thibs fix this?"

He did, he's playing the starters more and it's worked. It's also no sustainable pointing to a talent issue. The bench needs two more guys that Thibs trusts. We have IQ. The rest are meh...

Yes to all of this. Not my own observation but perhaps IQ was getting 4th quarter minutes (over Grimes for so long) because he is a better ball handler and passer out of double teams and traps/blitzing that Indiana was throwing at the Knicks.

SergioNYK @ 1/12/2023 10:42 AM
Not going to lie I'm surprised we won this one. Big 25 point lead at home, we usually lose these. It's really irritating to watch! But kudos to the team for getting this one.

Brunson once again playing like a Super Star. Outplayed and outshined Haliburton. Not sure what Brunson did during those games he was out with the hip but he's been just at another level since coming back. That annoying little prick McConnell was making it difficult for him but Brunson did what he needed to do. Clutch layup and three after Hield's three to cut it down to 2.

Good to see RJ back and he started off strong making shots and looking good but he was awful in the fourth. Bricking open shots and slow defense almost cost us. I was begging Thibs to bring in Grimes! Who shut down another All-Star in Haliburton and made the key dagger three.

Robinson was also huge! 9 offensive rebounds, 5 steals and 2 blocks! He's such an underrated part of our overall success and he doesn't get the credit he deserves imo. But without Robinson, we'd struggle. Hartenstein has been awful.
