he dominated tonight
LivingLegend @ 2/6/2023 12:11 AM
LOL - Briggs to the rescue again.
Chandler @ 2/7/2023 1:46 PM
Briggs can you bring reverse jinx magic on Obi and RJ?
martin @ 2/12/2023 1:29 PM
It’s the little thing Knicks bigs are doing and doing very well

LivingLegend @ 2/12/2023 1:36 PM
Hartenstein has been legit really GOOD last 10-15 games or so —— he seems less tentative and just a notch or two more physical.

He rebounds very well in traffic, he’s almost always in the right place defensively and on top of his usual vertical hands up defense he’s started to swat some shots at the rim. I think he’s best jumping out high on high screens but less successful in mid drop coverage (too deep).

I like that he’s mostly a mistake free player who will grab a board and just take it out or if he does shoot he’s pretty effective.

KnickDanger @ 2/12/2023 1:47 PM
Let's say it again, he was playing with an injury.

Yeah, now we need to see his shot make its way back. Can’t wait

Panos @ 2/15/2023 10:29 PM
Well, he's still not shooting 3's and not passing as was advertised, but he's doing all the dirty work, and held down the fort very capably tonight. Hope he keeps it up.

]Hartenstein Should throw me 5% of his next contract
NYKMentality @ 2/16/2023 3:09 AM
Instead of Walt Clyde Frazier (my favorite) I actually wanted to listen to the ATL broadcasting crew in order to get a feel for how they viewed our Knicks team this year.

They did a really good job of complimenting our entire team, they complimented Coach Thibs and they also made fun of Julius Randle's 2020-2021 Playoff stinker (but they also raved about Julius Randle throughout most of the game too).

But when they mentioned Isaiah Hartenstein? They made it known how much of an impact he had on the game and actually stayed how they thought Heartenstein was the best player on the court (and the other announcer agreed).

11 Rebounds.
3 Blocks.

He played big.

You saved his season, demand current contract

Chandler @ 2/16/2023 8:03 AM
He is playing with a Thibs identity. Hustle, smarts

But i thought he was supposed to be able to hit some 3s???

Hope we see a little of that

The 7-foot free agent acquisition from the Clippers continued to impress Wednesday night in a 122-101 rout of the Hawks at State Farm Arena, notching six points, 11 rebounds and three blocks off the bench. A frustrating Achilles injury has been far less of an issue lately. Over his past 12 games, Hartenstein is averaging 6.3 points, 8.9 rebounds and 1.3 blocks in 24.9 minutes.

“That’s been the biggest change,” Hartenstein told The Post. “I feel like I can do the role that I need to do here a lot better with how good my Achilles is now feeling. … My main thing was helping the team win. Now it’s coming back where I’m doing the little stuff to help the team win.”

Mitch needs to hurry up back, because Achilles will flare up again, especially how dominate he's been playing. The best remedy for an Achilles is rest, so Mitch coming back along with this All Star break, is perfect timing for Hart.....

I know this is the Hartenstein thread and i know the stats don’t back this up (or try to capture this) but Sims deserves a shout out too. His Uber-athleticism is game changing. I think it seriously dissuades opponents from thinking they’re going to go inside and throw it down. Real fear of the reverse poster
Nalod @ 2/16/2023 9:01 AM
Sims role has been excellent and Thibs has done a good job in their rotations. Sims starts but Hart finishes.

Hartenstein is brutal.....in a good way 👾
KnickDanger @ 2/16/2023 11:05 AM
When Mitch went down I was hoping the Knicks could just hold the fort, not sink too much. Turns out the team ascended - there are other factors for that but IHart and Sims hitting their marks is definitely one big reason. Salute.

Who said he could hit 3's?

A.) He's in his 5th NBA year but yet has never had a season where he's even made 15 3's before and B.) He's only made a career 26 3's (only 5.2 made 3's per year).

He's just not a 3 point shooter (and that's okay).

I can't believe Sims is starting and he has held his own.

58th pick in draft.
