Right now it seems like more than half the league is close to .500
Dealing with teams potentially trying to make playoffs must make trades more difficult. Why would a decent team sell? And if they do they must be getting a maximum value payout. We’ll see how this plays out.
It creates such volatility- even an injury to just one player can have a tremendous swing for a teams chances of making the playoffs. After all our winning and good vibes, we're now just a few losses from being in the midst of the tank standings- like nearly every nba team. It's wild.
A decent team will sell, if they take a view of the standings, and consider the longer term outlook- not only would they be selling in a market that favors selling, they then also increase the chances of a good draft pick. That's why you'll likely see smart teams like the Raptors selling up- play it right and they take a step back for just a few months, and come back next season in a much stronger position.

I think the championship is pretty wide open this year. GSW kind of came out of nowhere to win last season. I don't think anyone in the east is really afraid of Boston. I'm sure Brooklyn Milwaukee and Philly think that with the right luck they can make it past Boston. Out west I'm less sure. Denver looks really strong, I'm not sure how many teams are willing to gamble to get past them. I think the Knicks first round pick has a ton of value right now (if unprotected). I really think the Knicks should be aggressive in offering it in trades over the next two weeks to see what kind of players are available.
After we finish out this 10 game losing streak there won’t be any parity at least involving the knicks

This is a good point. Also add in the upcoming CBA and lack of clarity for the finance guys to figure out how to pay guys that need extensions and not make a big mistake after the new rules are in place.

I keep reading they are talking with Raptors about OG. Have no idea if its legit. We also read IQ could be in demand. Have to give up assets to get assets and make room for picks if one is not selling them.

Its those injuries that often force teams to make a trade, so they dont lose any ground in the standings. IDK which teams are in that position right now. Enough to want to deal.

Knicks as of today are 3.5 games out of position 7 in the draft while at same time only a game out of playoff position 6.
So the value of San unprotected pick has to be astronomical especially right now. But it’s also one heckuva risky proposition on the other side with such a prize at the top

I don't see us in the play offs. If this franchise and front office were smart, they would be sellers at the deadline, though I don't know that many of our players actually have any value.
It’s shaping up to be a slow trade season with no big moves on the horizon. For the Knicks I eventually see a Reddish trade it that about it

Reddish for Grayson Allen I would do. Depends on what other assets we would have to include

Why or what is happening that Milwaukee wants to move Grayson Allen?
While his Ted Cruz face is one only a mother could love, he did very well in Memphis and seemed to be contributing for the Bucks when ever we played them.
I admire the kid for sticking it out and building a career from his college reputation and peers (NBA players) who give him little slack if he even appears to play dirty.

They want to move off his $8.5M next year. https://www.basketball-reference.com/con...
Bucks ownership much tighter with their luxury tax dollars and need to resign Lopez and maybe Ingles/Hill.
Allen's position and role are duplicates of Pat Connaughton and maybe MarJon Beauchamp? And Khris Middleton coming back from injury soon and he will take a lot of Allen's minutes.

I appreciate the enlighenment. Reddish for Allen, two Dukies.
Grayson as back up wing would be a good addition.
