That half court 3pointer just before halftime REALLY decided the game

And then who is the PG off the bench?
Grimes starts in part to guard best PG/SG on court and learn from that. Same thing they did last year with RJ
There is a guy named Rose on our bench and from what I hear hes pretty good.
Rose has been really good, up until this year of course.
It's a tiresome conversation. Grimes is going to be the long term starting SG and he has earned every minute of it. So has IQ - earned all his minutes - but he will get his soon in the form of a big fat contract.
But carry on, please discuss how giving 34 year old Rose minutes off the bench and truly fucking up a good rotation and the development of Grimes as a POA is a worthwhile move while killing the perimeter defense and not just something that popped up into your head without much follow through on thought process.
You do understand that there are other considerations, right?
To me grimes doesnt get crap for a contract. so tell me the "other considerations". grimes and rose off the bench for 10 mins or so imho helps us more than hurts us. we keep getting down 6,8,10 points in the first quarter and hafta fight the rest of the way. funny we have a starting sg that cant shoot and other teams know this and they jump to the lead in the first quarter.

phuck yeah... I just started a thread on that. That's an elite NBA attribute. He's also not only a good finisher but his drive and dish game is money. This guy is our 2 guard of the future man. He really reminds me of John Starks. Everyone thought he was a 3&D guard but he had a wicked first step that made him great at going straight to the rim like Grimes does.

IDK cooch, seems like you will make your own path here while ignoring everything. Not much to add.

Love Grimes but he does need to improve his outside shot which looks broken right now. Not sure if he is off balance on his shot but it def. needs to be much more consistent

To be fair, they are taking different shots. Quick has revived his floater this season and has added some midrange to his game. Grimes is either taking the catch and shoot 3, or he's going straight to the bucket.

I'm honestly surprised their 3PT% is as close as it is when you factor in IQ's buzzer beater attempts and the occasional heat check. In any event, if there was going to be an odd man out, I think we all agree it'd be Deuce losing minutes and not either Grimes or IQ?
Also worth noting in any comparison of the two, that this is Grimes' second season - "sophomore slump" is a thing, and we saw it with IQ last year until after the all-star break. The rest of the NBA gets a scouting report on these guys and the player needs to recalibrate.
(If it did come down to it and we had to lose one to a trade, I'm keeping IQ and what I think is a more well rounded game - he really is becoming quite indispensable)

WAS pretty good. Rose is cooked.
Why not see how cooked he is?? We havent seen him in quite a while, show us your stuff DR
Rose can’t shoot and can’t guard most of the guys on this messageboard. He can slash that’s about it

First .. The Knicks 2022-23 roster are full of role-players, there's no all-star player on the Knicks roster. Stop letting the FOUR years of averaging close to 40 minutes of playing time STATS fool you.
The Knicks big weakness in the first quarter and 3rd quarter has been Randle & Barrett, and now Brunson playing all 12 minutes of the first & third quarter every game.
Letting Randle & Brunson/Barrett warm up to the game for 10 to 12 minutes in the first quarter on every opponent for 50 games. And no improvement in offense/defense, no co-existing, no chemistry on either side of the court from the 3 players.
The Knicks don't need to trade players on the Feb. deadline. The Knicks need head coach Mark Jackson asap.
The Brunson & Grimes backcourt should receive 6 to 8 minutes per quarter.
And to change things up in the backcourt against opponents we put ..
Veteran D.Rose & young Quickley backcourt to change Brunson tempo by averaging 18 to 22 minutes per game.
I'm tired of seeing Brunson do all of veteran D.Rose halfcourt offense moves.
Don't judge D.Rose at what we have seen of D.Rose early in the season playing spot minutes as a SG to PG Randle/Barrett .. 9 man rotation com'on
Give D.Rose an all-bench lineup on this roster, and after 5 to 10 games we will see a winning exciting Knicks lineup.
