The Nets are trading Kyrie Irving to the Mavericks in exchange for Dorian Finney-Smith, Spencer Dinwiddie, a 2029 first-round pick and two second-round picks, sources told ESPN.
Looks like that Dallas pick isn’t going to be mid first round anymore!
Not a bad deal for both sides…
That’s all!? Jazz wanted 4-5 first rounders and two solid prospects for Mitchell. Irving’s value has fallen off big time.

UFA at end of season prob why
Wow.
Say what you say about Kyrie Irving off the court etc but he's an absolute SUPERSTAR PG and still very young @ only 30 years of age.
Dallas absolutely FLEECED and destroyed Brooklyn in this trade and now Dallas automatically becomes serious Western Conference/NBA Contenders.
Luka Doncic + Kyrie Irving is going to become both physically and mentally impossible to stop.
He’s a free agent, a flight risk, an injury risk and not stable.
Westbrook and two firsts was the better deal for them if it was offered. Have to imagine KD is up next now that it’s him and Simmons.
The return is light, but Suns weren’t offering Bridges / Johnson. Claxton is better and cheaper than Ayton.
Knicks could use a reset in the market going into the deadline.
Interesting. Who is going to be the number one option? Kyrie and LeBron had similar usage rates. Neither player had a clear edge. Yet Kyrie wasnt pleased with his role. Looks like he's headed into the same situation with Luka, possibly worse.

Man, you'd think Cubes would've learned his lesson from the KP trade. But he gets off on the high stakes gambling.
People can say what they want but this is how teams go after championships!
Basically Dinwiddie, Smith and First for Irving. Mavs got considerably better for the playoffs.
Nets get good assets for someone that was going to walk.
KP looks pretty good right now. 22.8pts 8.7rbs 47.5% very underrated season right now. THJR was also good for them. Trade wasn’t a a big win for either team. We missed in FA so proved to be unnecessary move for NYK.
It’s worth the swing for them. They may not be done dealing either.
Bummer on our pick, thought we were going to get a 3D wing on the draft.
Good point on usage, it’s essentially the same player as Lebron for that standpoint. Maybe Cuban can help him relax.

It's more than whether or not KP is a good player. He didn't play well for them after all the assets they gave up. The ramifications are still being felt now. It led to their poor decision-making with JB and now they're making desperate moves for known team cancers. Wouldn't worry about that pick tho. There's a 50/50 chance this ends horribly.
What a f steal
Kytie Irving for one unprotected pick and crap
We could’ve done that!!

Thank God we didn't.
Luka's numbers are going to drop, and both players will be unhappy playing second fiddle to the other.

Could’ve gave barret and a 2024 pick

I want to say that Dorian Finney Smith leaves a hole too.

RJ Barrett would have been a salary dump!
The Nets wanted Dimwiddie - he absolutely fills in part of what they will miss from Irving- and should keep them humming along nicely.
I think a pretty solid trade for both sides.
Maybe we could have offered them IQ & RJ & some picks?
I would not have wanted Kyrie.
