Henceforth known as J-Hart and I-Hart.

Ahhh... Now the salary makes sense. Now need to know what the protections are on the pick.
so final tally is 2 frp's for hart.
(1 traded for cam and another traded in this deal).
probably takes you out of any og discussions this deadline.

Can this trade still be expanded to a 3-team trade as reported by Ian Bagley?
I like this pick, curious to see the minutes allocation post trade deadline, Hart was traded by using a player outside the rotation. Maybe its time for Thibs to lessen the minutes of the starters in preparation for a possible playoff run.
The knicks already made a move several hours before the deadline, are the done trading or will they still make another move? Will dealing DRose to the bucks for Allen still make sense after getting Hart? What possible trade will happem by the deadline?
I like Hart but this trade doesn’t make much sense for the Knicks
hart also has a $12.9 mil PO next season which he probably will decline making him a UFA.

Not really. The first traded for Cam looks like it's likely to convey as two second rounders. The team still has a pick this year, so the Stepien rule doesn't play a part in this. But I don't think Masai is interested in those picks anyway.
If it’s top 14 protected both the Knicks and Mavs pick would likely convey - they are both in the 16th to 20th area. Anyway, we’ll still have a pick in roughly the same area and how many rookies do you want to bring in?
I’m good with the trade. Whether he deserved the doghouse or not Cam was never going to play. Hart gives us depth as another “Thibs guy” (we hope).

Yeah, that's why Portland traded him. It'd be a bad look if the Knicks didn't re-sign him.

It's a meh move. I'm hopeful it's followed up by something else.

The first they traded for Cam was the Charlotte pick right? The protections look like they’ll be in place so it becomes seconds I believe.
This leaves two roster spots open. Hmmm. Wonder who they add?
Grimes back to second unit?
Also, rumor is that they are trying to involve a third team
Wanted Hart very much but was hoping we’d get away with maybe Reddish and some 2nds (assuming it’s going to the 1st though).
Hart…like Brunson is a culture builder/setter and Thibs loves the player/effort/qualities.
Apparently Randle/Hart share the same agent and their previous agent was Leon Rose.
The above could indicate Knicks plan to extend Hart this summer.
Love the add and me personally- I’d like to see RJ brought off bench as #1 scoring option. At a minimum you can expect to see Hart close some or many games.
Just gives us a very smart and unselfish player who is high energy and does lots of dirty work - a NEW YORK type player.

I think Grimes is safe for now. Maybe one of those roster spots is for Melo🤣... 😳
Hahahahahaha
They either make the playoffs or win by keeping their pick!!!!
