We could have matched that offer but I doubt the Nets trade him to us anyway. What this does do it makes it more likely we keep our pick. Nets should not be trash and that opens up another playoff spot. Hopefully with the East taking a talent hit the Wiz do better so we can get their pick.
Clean@ 2/9/2023 1:33 AM
Actually now that I think about it they traded him to PHX as a favor to KD. That was where he wanted to go when he asked for a trade in the summer. He also has not been a pain in the butt like Kyrie so I can see them doing him a solid.
JesseDark@ 2/9/2023 2:45 AM
Maybe we can get Mikal Bridges or Jae Crowder from Nets.
gradyandrew@ 2/9/2023 3:15 AM
Kind of blows the mind how we have spent the past 4 years complaining about not having a star and right across the way the Nets had 3 and now have none. Lots of peril in playing the star game in the NBA.

yup... if we wanted to buy a title shot this was prolly the guy. Brunson/Grimes/KD/Randle/Mitch and whoever is left is pretty damn good. Prolly give up IQ/Obi/RJ etc
ToddTT@ 2/9/2023 8:39 AM
Damn. Nets got an Anunoby type haul!

Same. I am still waiting for us to obtain him for a backup role

Is Brooklyn still the cool team
SergioNYK@ 2/9/2023 9:19 AM
Gotta admit this was a nice trade for the Nets. The longer they waited the worse it was going to get. Mikal is no KD but he is a great foundational player to have who plays and conducts himself the right way and they have recovered some picks too. This will buy Marks and Tsai time to rebuild their team and get away from that toxic stench of Kryrie and KD. If I were them I would just waive Simmons. Eat the money and just send this guy home.
As for the Suns, I'm iffy on it. On paper it looks nice. They have an insane big 3 and Ayton in the middle. But this isn't NBA 2K. Injuries are part of the game and I don't trust CP3 and KD staying healthy. And losing Mikal is going to severely hurt them. He was a huge part of their success.

Precisely. Nets will have a much better chemistry and future.

Where's Stephen A Smith @ these days?
Anyone remember when he disrespected Julius Randle on National TV by throwing his jersey on the floor and all because he was butthurt about "missing out" on Kyrie Irving and Kevin Durant?
He should never be allowed to watch a Julius Randle led Knicks team during Postseason play (@ Madison Square Garden); ever again.

No accountability from these or other gasbags who still take every opportunity to “lol same old Knicks.” How we “failed” to sign these two idiots who spent a big amount of time not on the court and sabotaging their franchise. Or the “fail” when the ping pong balls didn’t give us Bob’s Big Boy I mean Zion. Or ridiculing draft night moves that brought us Grimes, Deuce, Rokas, Sims and future assets.
Clowns is correct.

SAS is a bonafide shithead
GO NY GO NY GO!!!!
SergioNYK@ 2/9/2023 10:24 AM
SAS is neck in neck with Spike and Rappaport for most annoying wannabe crybaby 'Knicks' fan.
Nalod@ 2/9/2023 10:29 AM
Rappaport is intolerable to listen to. Spike is ok other than his entitlement gig when he wanted to use the service entrance.

This will help CP3 have something left in the tank for the playoffs. Last season he ran out of gas. Im guessing they have a 2 year window.
Dont know the details on the 1st round picks, where they will fall. But the Nets showed pre Durant/Kyrie that they know how to build a playoff team from the ground up. Probably wont try to build a contender like that again.
