Knicks · Nets have a glut of wings: Shouldn't we be offering three firsts for Bridges? (page 2)

I can't see Nets thinking he's untouchable. He's not the guy you build around so much as he's an invaluable piece if you have the other star assets

why would we think 3 FRPs for OG, but not Mikal?

I don’t think Mikal is quite as good as OG, but you’re right it’s close. They are in the same category.

I have the opposite take, I think Mikal worth more than OG. Different players for sure but I'd rather Mikal.

Mikal doesn't miss games, really good outside shooter.

He won't guard you PFs in the same way as OG but he has got some other things going on too like his contract.

I would prefer Mikal as well. A 6'8" long wingspan combo forward is the biggest need this team has. OG would be great to don't get me wrong but I would pony up more for Mikal

I'd dislike the idea of giving Brooklyn any types of valuable assets.

3 1st round draft picks could end up giving Brooklyn 3 future All-Star caliber players (Franchise cornerstones).

IMO the current Nets roster is a mishmash that makes no sense

all player stats will suffer lowering their trade value

If nets were smart they would trade Mikal now -- when his value is peak. Keep in mind too Chris Paul has made many guys look better playing with him than they did in their next gigs. Certain parts of Mikal's game may get exposed, e.g., inability to create

Right now a ton of teams beyond Knicks could see Mikal as a key cog. Hope he lands with us

Keith Van Horn for Tim Thomas

Don't sleep on the Nets- makes sense they want to keep him. Remember, they got Dimwiddie who when healthy is a great PG.

I'm thinking while the Nets may drop a few places, they should still make the playoffs.

Who on the Nets is going to pass the ball? I always thought of Dimwiddie as a black-hole ball hog. In the words of Barkley, he shoots it even if you fake a pass to him

Bridges game will suffer there

Nets are essentially now a 7-10 play-in level team. They also appear to be over-loaded at the wing. I don't see them trading for Barrett or moving Mikal but will likely try to move on from Curry, Harris, Mills and Crowder. Knicks might be able to add Crowder if the Nets cut him.

PG: Spencer Dinwiddie, Ben Simmons, Seth Curry
SG: Royce O’Neale, Cam Thomas, Joe Harris, Patty Mills
SF: Cameron Johnson, Dorian Finney-Smith, Yuta Watanabe, Jae Crowder
PF: Mikal Bridges
C: Nic Claxton, Day-Ron Sharpe

Damn thats right. Its funny, I was really against the trade. KVH was one of the softest players in the league. But he showed some backbone with the Knicks. A little more willing to mix it up. Was a more aggressive player, without overstating it. Marbury was playing well with KVH and Doleac, before Isiah traded both of them.

Its why I was pleased to see that Rose (unlike Isiah) is building on the work of the previous regime. Felt like it was for Isiah's ego more than anything.

Timmy could have contended (cant remember where), but he went for a big payday with the Clips.

That's a lot of wing players. I think Jae Crowder already going to Bucks

Chandler @ 2/9/2023 1:46 PM
^^also has Mikal listed as PF when he's really a SF

too many wings. Also how do Spencer and Ben fit together? Could move Spencer to 2 but then even more logjam at the wings

Leon: Bridges or a new Cam, make it happen
