Did anyone catch when he was subbed in mid 4th (I think) and Nets ran simple curl play for Bridges where he starts at left corner 3 and simply curls around screen at the 3 point line top of key. RJ was set a ready on D and still trailed Bridges by 3-4 full steps as Bridges took the ball and proceeded all the way down the lane and to the basket with RJ never making it into the play. Might as well just sit down.
Obi virtually invisible as well — might as well play Fournier who has at least proven he cares.
RJ isn't handling the pressure of Hart fighting him for his minutes. My guess is RJ will be 'injured' for the next game as his psyche needs to adjust.

The NBA should be ashamed of themselves.
I'll give them Jayson Tatum (because he's the best player on the Celtics) but picking Jrue Holiday over Jalen Brunson was/is absolutely, criminal.
New York was deserving of 2 All-Stars because both Jalen Brunson and Julius Randle have played out of their minds and = the most dominant NBA duo within the entire league right now.

I love Clyde but at times he annoys me as being too laudatory of the opponent and too critical of the Knicks. That said, last night he had some critical comments of Bridges and implied Suns might have been having doubts whether Mikal would “take the next step” to become a star.
Only one game, but as I expected he didn’t look as good without CP3 and the Suns. Nets should have traded him.

Tend to agree. Watching Suns games, I thought the Nets got some great value with him and Cam. Last night did not confirm that. If they turned down 4 firsts for him, that may have been a mistake.
But like you said, just one game.

Mentioned before. Clyde likes to pick on anyone making lots of money and having a bad game or not playing the right way. Which makes sense.

Wasn't this in the context of being a main guy on a team? Like filling in for Booker?
I thought Clyde mentioned he filled the boxscore and was a lead guy for a game or maybe couple of games but that it's hard to sustain that level?
It feels so good to not only finally beat the Nets after 3 years but also have the two best players in New York City!
Tremendous defense in the second half! Held the Nets to 45 points after allowing 61 in the first half. Brunson was again amazing with another 40 burger! Could have had 50 easily if he made his FT's and if the game was a little closer. But this is now his third 40 point game and fifteenth 30 plus point game this season! A freaking All-Star IDGAF! He is the perfect Knicks PG I've wanted my entire life!
I was not in favor of the Hart trade but I'll happily eat the crow so far. He's been outstanding! Fits perfectly and does things nobody else on the team can do! He pretty much shutdown Cam Thomas, who has been on a tear, and Dumbwiddie in the second half. And he's hitting that three (4/6)!
Very happy with this win of course but what the hell is going on with RJ? He doesn't look like an NBA player right now. He's hurting the team and not contributing anything! I can live with a player having shooting slumps. It happens to everyone! But the lack of focus, lack of energy, lack of urgency is unacceptable! RJ is a good kid but he's really playing awful right now. It's coming across as a kid who got the bag and now doesn't give a shit. I don't think that's it because RJ has conducted himself almost perfectly. Could it be something personal? I think I'm going with that. Remember this is a 22 year old young man. I hope he pulls through. He's better than this!

Love Clyde and Mikal is one of my favorite players in the league to watch but I think everyone needs to calm down about their expectations. I read that some team, I think it was Memphis, offered four first round picks for him and that's just ridiculous! Bridges is not a star! He's an elite role player. To expect him to magically start dropping All-Star numbers is unfair. That's not his game.

Brunson is our Jessica Alba of Knick PGs!
feels like to me that Brunson and Randle are slowly locking in. They just look different, the game is slowing down again and they are making things look easy

Their 2 man game is getting better as well.

its all about closing. As the supporting cast gets better and better more and more it will come down to finishing. Jules is super physical and when he's doing that good things are happening. He's also MOST likely to be doing those things (cutting, crashing, setting screens) when Brunson has the ball and I think we are more and more seeing that's how we will finish. I like IQ in that mix a LOT as well. I think we are onto something and with Hart/Grimes we got legit stoppers and snipers

This was my thought on Randle last year and why I thought we should be patient. RJ's been easily our worst rotation player on a nightly basis. I just dont know what's going on, but like you elude to hopefully the staff and team does, have his back and this kid gives us a strong finish.

yes exactly. His scoring went up when Booker was out but then tailed off again. I didn't take the comments to mean Bridges is bad, but it does seem in line with my own thoughts that he was a beneficiary of CP3 finding him when he needed him and his being a gold-level complementary player, but if he's YOUR GUY, then you may be disappointed.
At the moment Hart is a better complement to our team. He provides genuine fight. If he's not out there last night we don't win by 20 points. Hart has the mentality to kill, step on the opponents throat, plays best in those moments. Without him, last nights game would go down to the wire and the Board would be having the typical gnashing of teeth whether we'll blow another home game.

100% speculation but I'm going with a foot issue like plantar fasciatis (sp?). I don't think he's lagging from lack of caring; my suspicion is it's pain.
Have we decided on any new nicknames yet, like RJobe?
