Knicks · Teams got a chance to win championship this year (page 1)

BRIGGS @ 2/25/2023 9:58 PM
It might not sound right it might sound hyperbolic but in reality this team now with hart is f good
EwingsGlass @ 2/25/2023 10:02 PM
Welp, there goes any chance we had.
Panos @ 2/25/2023 10:06 PM
we need a reverse jinx to reverse this jinx
babyKnicks @ 2/25/2023 10:19 PM
Does feel eerily like the Camby Houston sprewell knicms.
KnickDanger @ 2/25/2023 10:28 PM
No jinx - here we go!
ToddTT @ 2/25/2023 10:40 PM
Insta-ban. That should fix it.
BigDaddyG @ 2/25/2023 10:57 PM
Naw, this team is trash and will be lucky to escape the play-in.
NYKMentality @ 2/25/2023 11:08 PM
Not even myself will talk NBA Championship (even though I believe)

I just wanna see this team advance out of the 1st round because come the 2nd round? You're 1 series away from the Eastern Conference Finals;

And from there anything's possible.

technomaster @ 2/26/2023 1:18 AM
One thing we've learned over these past few games is that the team has Hart.
SupremeCommander @ 2/26/2023 6:25 AM
The Knicks have an awful home record for “a contender”

They have a wrong way to go before they are legit contenders

This is your most hyperbolic post to date, which is wild. Can’t wait to see the message when they lose a couple of games at home 🙄

Sorry, but Bucks and Celtics are another level. Baring an injury to key guys on their team, we are not getting past them in a 7 round series, no much the medication anyone might be taking.

I also doubt we can get by a healthy Philly, not with how Embid and Harden are playing.

Before the deadline I thought if we could have added a major piece like Derozan without sacrificing any key roster parts like IQ, etc. - that move would have vaulted us into the conversation for ECF.

Feel like we have the Bucks number. We blew a fantastic lead, and I know we lost but Giannis’ face spoke volumes last game. He wants nothing to do with Randle who bodied him hard the entire game. Thibs just matched Randle’s minutes to Giannis near exactly.

Celts, I mean, we won last game in OT and played them tough. Feel like we lack consistency game to game, but if we play teams the way we did the last 5, I think we give every team in the league a tough matchup.

The test for me are the 4 games vs Miami we have left. Feel like we are coming into the end run and those 4 games will really test us as both teams will be fighting to skip the bubble.

If…

Mitch stays healthy and averages a double double
Grimes and Quick score double figures every night
RJ averages 18-20 on efficient shooting
Julius and Brunson needs to average close to 50 btw them

Then they can beat anyone. Thibs needs to keep the guys fresh, that’s the most important thing that they go into the playoffs healthy.

Our bench looks great, would still hope Obi can give them a little energy.

The Celts are the only team with matching fire power that worries. The Cavs you just have to worry that Mitchell goes nuclear in a playoff series. I think the Bucks can be beaten.

Moving the ball is the key, if everyone is included and happy the defense will carry us

I think there is a world of difference in playing these teams in 1 regular season game vs. a 7 game series. The more talented team, the team with the single best player, usually comes out on top. These teams will wear us out.

But hey, that is why the play the games and I certainly would have said the same thing about our 99 team that had a great run until they met a vastly superior Spurs.

And I agree- Maimi is just such a hard team for us to play. So if we can hold our own against them, that goes a long way to getting us out of the play in.

I think those point totals are probably our best games and not our average. I would actually say that to create consistency, we would hope to raise the minimum points from Grimes and Quick and look to get Hart2Hart 10 each and Toppin 10. Reduce the reliance on Randle/Brunson by taking SOME of the bad shots and giving them to the others.

They are playing well so hard to be critical, but as the team tightens up for the playoffs, I want to focus on those assist numbers. We lack elite passing as a team. Good passing (swing passes) put additional pressure on the defense. Teams can stack the box knowing we will dribble into the triple coverage from ISO. We lack good outlet passes.

I can’t with a straight face say we are playing better ball than the Celts. The Bucks are a bit of an aging 1 truck pony. They pull Lopez out to the 3 point line to give Giannis room to work. With Randle on Giannis, he tends to become a jump shooter or passes to Lopez. We then live or die with Lopez’ 3 point shot. I’m ok with that.

Celts are interesting. They lack big man depth but their PG/SG/SF is the best 3 in the league. Smart didn’t play last time we faced them and it was a tough matchup. They got RW3 back and added Muscala to add big man depth, but Robinson could feast on that paint with his Rebounds. On paper, Celts win. But Barrett is gunning for Tatum and could have his Wiggins moment in the playoffs vs Tatum.

BRIGGS @ 2/26/2023 9:23 AM
This team is different w josh hart and the return of Robinson. It’s a full well built team w stars size secondary guys and role players.
SergioNYK @ 2/26/2023 10:35 AM
Why do we do this?
BigRedDog @ 2/26/2023 10:43 AM
3 of our next 4 are against the Celts twice and Heat once. I think we will have a much better idea of what we have after these next 4 games.

Seriously Briggs why do this?

You get no points for making predictions out of your ass if 1 eventually happens - SMH.

Stop Briggs - for sake of Knicks stop posting anything positive
