Yep - very impactful game but how have his free throws gone from bad to ridiculous?
Jules shortening my life expectancy with every dribble, back-in and pivot but still, played nice game.
IQ brilliant, J Hart doing everything right, Mitch great on boards and at rim….Obi with some clutch moments.
RJ —- OY VEY
The Mavs pick is still looking better than our pick and we are still undefeated with Josh Hart. Good times!
I don't think I ever saw so many near turnovers in a game. Celtics kept poking the ball away but the Knicks coming up with every 50/50 ball was the difference maker. Lots of missed open 3's by the Celtics too. They definitely looked tired as the game wore ob, except for Brogdon who didn't seem to break a sweat.
Randle again carried the team in the 1st quarter building a lead which the Knicks never came up. End of the game couldn't come fast enough. Knicks for the first time in years have a home court advantage. The rah rahing of the crowd discombobulated Boston and probably helped with the refs too. Celtics will come out with a chip on their shoulder the next time.
Knicks have a rare chance to position themselves for the playoffs playing the teams they are sandwiched between. One thing I have noticed, Knicks have lost games but I don't think they have been beaten since the home loss vs Dallas. Thibs has got these guys prepared and in every game. That's probably the single most important factor going into the stretch run.

I don’t know how it happens but RJ gets into these modes where he just forgets how basketball is supposed to be played.
Literally just dribbles around ignoring everyone.
IMHO he will be moved in offseason if reasonable deal is out there

And my Knicks stream is staying on the NO Pelican game
And my Boston stream is staying on their Philly 76ers game
Its a good night for the Knicks, and a bad night for me not able to watch a Knicks win over the Boston Celtrics !!!

I had to watch the Heats 101-99 win over Philly 76ers on NBATV.
Isiah Thomas Game-Time show had some of the live Knicks vs Celtics
Is Quickley playing himself into a 100M dollar contract? When he gets big minutes he will score like Herro or Poole, but he actually defends at an elite level too.

His contract will be interesting

He’s kind of stuck because once he passes on a 3 his release is so slow his only option is to get to or very near the hoop. Add on his handle is very loose, vision is tunnel - throw in he thinks he’s better than he is and not a good mix.
AGREE - think he’s moved (if possible) once the poison pill is over and maybe even at draft time.
I don’t dislike the kid but his stretches of poor play are cringe worthy - regardless of some of the good stuff

Feel like pretty much every other player has steadily gotten better, both individually and within that team framework and RJ hasn’t, and it really shows now. And he is probably pressing

Even Brunson looked a little shaky at times.
Will be interesting to see how the Celtics adjust their D against us in a couple of days.

I'll say it in the past...and will say it now. He isn't the only one on this team like that...even Brunson falls into that trap sometimes.

He is making himself indispensable. He's a keeper, and we are going to have to pay him, simple as that.

We are talking different solar system of difference though right? Like one has an off game every blue moon, the other has a good game every blue moon.

He's averaging 28 minutes a game since the Hart trade and has lost his closing role. I'm not sure any team would be willing to trade for his 100 million contract without attaching a draft pick as compensation.
Josh Hart's contract will be priority number one. Knicks will decline Rose's option and then resign Hart to a higher amount. I don't think he signs an extension because he's already outplayed his salary number.
IQ's rookie extension will kick in once Fournier's contract is off the books. He might even play through to RFA in the hopes of signing a near max deal. I'm not sure as Quickly seems to love his role here so maybe he extends this off season.

Thank the basketball Gods the Boston Celtics didn't quit on and trade away their 3rd overall pick in Jaylen Brown who only averaged 13 points per game @ the age of only 22.
Fast forward to Jaylen Brown @ 26 and he's now a multiple time All-Star (2x) and averaging over 26 PPG here in 2022-2023.
Look @ Jaylen Brown @ 22 then look @ him @ 24 and now look @ him @ 26.
Knicks Front Office won't move R.J. Barrett before he's 24-26; they're going to continue developing him (just like Boston did with Jaylen Brown) imo.
