Lineups I'm interested in/looking forward to seeing next season.
Handlers and Mitch Brunson, Clarkson, Mikal, Yabu, Mitch -1-4 are all cappable of generating a combined 12-14ast on average. Translates to some easy buckets for Mitch. Not counting the cleanup work from JB & JC attacking.
Five out Brunson, Mikal, OG, Yabu, Towns or Brunson, Deuce, Mikal, OG, Towns -All 5 cappable of knocking down the three. Clearer lanes for Brunson or Towns.
Run NYK Clarkson, Mikal, Hart, OG, Mitch -Built for the break
Twin Towers Deuce, Mikal, OG, Towns, Mitch -Whole lotta wing span 1-5 with 2 7fters built in. Clog up the paint, smother on the perimeter. Mix in some zone?

I was 9 at the time (don't think I saw this Clyde game) and didn't become a Knick fan until the next championship run I think in 72/73.
The 1 game that comes to mind for me in terms of great finals games was Magic taking over as the center for injured Kareem and destroying a supremely talented Sixers team with 42 points, 15 boards and 7 assists.
For a player that could not shoot --- Magic controlled the game as well as anyone I've ever witnessed.

What? He has been in the league how long? 8 years? Where is the free throw shooting? No really, I want someone to tell me. If he could improve his free throw % by just 5 % each season he would be shooting like 80% by now......

Summer power rankings from the Athletic
New York Knicks 2
Last ranking: 3 Free agency: PF Precious Achiuwa (unrestricted), SF Landry Shamet (unrestricted), PG Cameron Payne (unrestricted), PF P.J. Tucker (unrestricted), SG Delon Wright (unrestricted), C Ariel Hukporti (option exercised) Additions: SG Jordan Clarkson, PF Guerschon Yabusele Departures: TBD
Midsummer summary: It’s all about new coach Mike Brown and how he may reimagine what is largely the same team that went to the Eastern Conference finals. Clarkson should be an upgrade on Payne, while Yabusele should be an upgrade on Achiuwa. The offense could be even better, though the question of how well this team can defend with Jalen Brunson and Karl-Anthony Towns will persist. New York should still add a couple more players, especially in the frontcourt and on the wing.

That’s a picture of KAT yelling at the officials, and a picture of Julius playing defense.

And wasn't bridges key in the Boston series? I loved Randle but he was not there for any playoff moments. Im glad he had a good run this year in Minny. Our two new guys both had moments in season 1 for Knicks. OG, who was here just one half seaosn earlier had his best season as a pro. WE made it to the ECF and ran into a team that was better. My take is knicks despite the apparent success never really hit its full stride/potential for reasons well discussed on these threads for some time now. Minny again did not advance to the finals having also run into a better team but I don't think the failed and Jules was great for them. They got DDV and finanical flexibility. Knicks used two free agents to get a potential HOF player who also had one of his best seasons as a pro. KAT is an elite rebounder and scorer. His defense is suspect. In my view the trade wa a win-win for both teams. Letter grades are good media fodder for fans to argue about. Lets not forget iHart outplayed what we could pay him and Mitch was broken. That perhaps put OKC over Minny itself!! Ironic.
