Knicks · Knick knacks... (page 201)

That Fat Joe in the picture?
The guys look good! Jalen very poished! Crisp look. Kat, very nice!
OG looks like the first time he wore a suite. But in a good way!
Leon? He needs a stylist? Some skin care, facial accessories like hair, glasses, something? The some guys can pull off the black T with a tux/suit? Not him. The black sneaker shoe thing with white sole? Bit dated now. Not saying he has to be the best dressed in the room, but a bit more?
But, can't argue the results! Dude is getting it done.
WWW, fits in the moment. Daddy Rick, very nice.
Glad Dolan was not in on it.
Clarkson? dude looks smooth! Mikal? Also.
Shamet I guess is still in Italy with his girl? good for him! Josh maybe on vacation with the family? Funny line.
Good times! Enjoy it as it never lasts in that world.

Don't care about the ESPYS, but what we're seeing is the immortality that comes from winning a title in New York. We tried to tell guys over the years, but kept getting spurned. Oh well, you missed your chance!

LOL! To the victor the spoils!
Espy's are kind of lame but not this year!
Knicks are COOL!
Yes, they missed thier chance but some of them also knew if you don't deliver the NY experience can be dreadful.
In some aspects Melo got a free pass to some extent given he had Phil Jax took a good deal of the heat when things went south after he resigned and Melo did not really "Sacrifice". What we have seen in this knick team is many guys have to in order to win a chip. I don't "Blame" Melo or Amare for that era's dysfunction. Thats really still on Dolan for still insisting on the starphuch roster construction.

What is super cool is Jalen became a star under the bright lights of broadway. KAT made good on his potential, and OG got the exposure to what we have seen since he got here.

A team for the ages and it did not have a Westbrook, Durant, Lebron, Kobe, Donovan Mitchell, Giannis, etc type hype.

Even with the dysfunction - the Melo-drama, Stat and his fire extinguisher, Steph and his representation of the Isiah years - those guys are still getting love from the city. Credit Dolan - because we so rarely get to - Once a Knick, Always a Knick was such a fantastic move with this franchise in paying tribute to the guys who battled for us, even with their varying degrees of failure.

But I'm not just talking about loved in NY - Kawhi, Siakam, Van Vleet obviously loved in Toronto too, but didn't get this sort of love fest on this stage. The NY championship team is amplified at another level.

The national media tour this team has been on is prominently NY based, so a lot of these stops are going to have some bias towards our Knicks instead of someone like Toronto or OKC. But these are the voices talking to fans all over the country, not just on MSG.

Yeah, ESPYS are lame, and honestly forgot they existed until this week. But how cool was it to see OG stand in front of a crowd of his peers across all of sports and get serenaded with the OG chants?

Winning one here is just different.

I will never forget that moment!

It will be eternal for all of us

Whatever happens for the Knicks in the coming years and decades, this ride to the mountaintop will satisfy our souls as fans of the game and the team

OG's tip is the time capsule moment that captures the essence of this epic playoff run

I do believe that makes it the most iconic play of our lifetimes

It's a fine memory to carry through life

Important topic to discuss

Yabusele waived his player option for next year which gave him playing time in Chicago and then free agency. It was for 5mm. In Chicago his numbers were much closer to the season before with Philly were he showed up nice.
By doing this we got GTA. Do we win it without GTA? All the pieces fit.
Yabu was not fat or out of shape he just was not a good fit on the court. It happens.
HE just signed with good team in Greece making him about the highest paid in the Euroleague. 12mm euro for three years.

Good for him, good for us. Good relations with players also helps. I thought both parties handled things rather well.

Fact is Leon being a former uber agent gets players on discounts and fulfils promises beyond winning. Seems to paint a picture beyond the money. That Giannis and Lebron wanted here is cool. Things change, knicks are the champs!!!

as one who has bought the boring front office discussion before I thought I would add my 2 cents regarding his departure.
Obviously not an apron issue him leaving as teams can spend as they wish on front office and coaching.
Gerson has came after a brief stint with the timberwolves after he got into a mess having an affair with a female employee and married. 5 years ago it was a big deal. Perhaps today it qualifies one for a career in politics?

It is nearly impossible to quantify his contribution to knicks. We often associate a GM or president with a successful trade or a failed one but rarely mention the owners imput. It would be interesting to know what his contributions were and perhaps how the decision making process has gone. Maybe Leon writes a book one day?

Be it as it may Gerson leaving means he aspires to lead a team again and perhaps has suiters? When Scott Perry left it was also assumed as much.
One might assume one of the Zannin's or Brock Aller has had a larger role in things as well?

At the end of the day if Leon had designs to leave soon it would be assumed Gerson would have been the one to step into the role as he is qualified. One might deduct that Leon is not going anywhere soon or perhaps Rosas might have stayed? That or there is a clear succesion plan and he is not included?

Knicks won a chip. Leon has a recipe for success. Rosas should be in demand. Maybe he joins one of the expansion clubs if they come to fruition anytime soon.
