Who are the elite? Recently LeBron, KD, Steph, Kawhi. All of whom have had trouble staying on the court. Emblid and Jokic? How much more valuable are they over Julius right now? A bit maybe? Ja, Dame, KAT, etc. etc. All very good to great players but it’s not crazy to make a case for Randle over them. Not by a mile but neither is he a mile under. Same with Brunson. We’ve got two top players now!

We have 2 NBA stars on this team and this season stamped it. We hope RJ is a star in development, but RJ has company in that star development chamber of thibs. Can’t say enough about thibs and Randle though.
I’ve said trade one of them and that’s now disrespectful to thibs and Randle (who has been great) so I apologize to them two. I’m also changing my trade RJ talk. As long as thibs is able to shave off his mind and play the hot man or reliable player in the 4th, I’m good with RJ.
I’ve also said this season rest on thibs management of Randle. And fast forward, I have to include Randles whisperer in my apology. I clowned this dude and thumbs down Randle. But “thumbs up” to Randle for reaching knick history with his play. And this 3-some are doing something special this season. Thibs, Randle and Brunson. We need these guys to be on their game and continue to lead us in the playoffs. Is ECF the new ceiling?
I say that because the stars in development are also getting better each game, especially in the clutch (love hart and IQ combo)

But Randle you the man and the engine that gets us going and JB is the closure. Love the consistency and synergy since. Just enjoying the moment. Save the playoff talk for the playoffs. But right now, solid game and solid team 8 game run.

I dont consider a player to be elite, without a playoff resume. Its the regular season and the postseason.
This last game vs. the Heat, Randle didnt get flustered after 2 near turnovers, and made that clutch shot. Too often he would just turn it over. They would then do a close up of a visibly flustered player.
Randle kept his composure the last game in crunch time, in a really tough spot. Showing that ability to keep cool under pressure, in the playoffs. Most definitely will vault Jules to elite status.

This winning streak he is for sure calming down. JHart is quite the whiner at times too. I'd like to see less of it.
He creates contact then tries to sell it at times. Last night he got small elbow then went down like someone cracked a glass bottle over him.
I appreciate the effort, but refs don't buy it.
That call on Quick where Bam set a pick and hit Herro was a good call by the refs. Quick barley got him and it was no foul, but......refs go it wrong and when Thibs challanged it revealed the true foul which I don't think refs saw, thus they could not over turn it. No fault/blame. It was good play.
Herro is very smooth operator and shooter.
I think last serves as an example of how fickle and unreliable the "in the moment/hot takes" approach is in sports.
If Randle's rainbow prayer had landed an 1/4 of inch in any other direction, I have little doubt he'd be getting killed for the last two possessions rather than praised as an MVP, probably by a good percentage of the same people.

KoT - Just enjoy the moment, brother. These moments are fleeting. It was an awesome win on a tough shot with no time on the shot clock. Knicks caught a lot of bad breaks that game. Butler had a personal parking spot on the FT line and if anyone so much as looked at him, he got two shots. It was a poorly called game both ways, in my honest opinion. But this Knicks team gritted up and muscled through. They took Brunson off the table with the double team early in the last few possessions and Randle claimed the win with a tough shot. Doubt there is another player on our roster that gets that shot off, let alone hits it in double coverage falling from. Consider every other bad shot that I’ve complained about Randle taking to be practice for that moment.

He’s in beast mode. Jalen Brunson affect. JB came in like a beast. Randle was ready to rebound from thumbs down Randle. This marriage was perfect timing thanks to the FO. And managed great from the start thanks to thibs. I thought IQ could’ve been our starting PG, but clearly he would not have the same level of impact as JB. Solid moves and non moves. Good thing nobody listens to fans and we have a FO that has patients and doesn’t believe in knee jerk reaction moves. Every move had a short and long term benefit which is difficult to do in this nyc market / fan base.

I can’t argue with that. Playoffs will be the proving ground. But so far this season he has been a very top player.
I’m eating crow about him. Brunson has clearly helped him a lot but let’s take it easy
It has been interesting to me to see Knicks fans complain about Thibs overplaying guys at times and the whole minute’s discussion. Knicks players have had their injury games missed but it does seem like as a whole it’s the Knicks players who are more healthy as a group compared to other teams. By luck or something else, who knows.

I believe the biggest difference has been Brunson. Pre-Brunson, Randle was the offense. Other teams knew it, and tailored their defenses to stopping him. Randle had to work harder.

Yessir.
Randle NEEDED a player who was equal or better than him and the complement has been perfect. Brunson is a guy who is taking the ball out of his hands (in certain situations like bringing ball up court and initiating offense) while also matching (or exceeding) his shot creating and shot making. Both of them together have been exquisite.
I think Brunson will unlock more and more of the offense, team just needs time. I also think Brunson has another level of passing in him.
All things being equal, I think the Knicks will be lights out next year.

Not just referring to here.
Had it not gone in, him and Thibs would be the target for people who NEED to blame someone.
Knicks are young which might explain the good injury experience. Other than Mitch, nobody been out extended.
