there was a lot of talk last night (and frankly throughout the year) of Jalen making things easier for Julius by taking some of the scoring load
I think it's much more particular than that. As we saw last night Julius remains very vulnerable as the primary ballhandler particularly when everyone in the building knows it's his possession. As soon as he turns his back the double or tripe comes. If he spins, the double has already arrived etc. Those turnovers hurt the team and IMO severely wreaked havoc on his confidence. Then throw in the boos from the crowd etc.
He needs to play off ball more in those moments. Last night he had like 3 TOs in those critical moments but fortunately the team (and he) refused to lose
I did notice that Thibs had Hart bring the ball up a couple of times rather than Julius
Refs did Julius no favors. I know the Knicks got more FTs than Celts (which should surprise no one since Celts were shooting from deep a lot) but Julius got no FTs until way late in the game despite tons of contact whereas Tatum was the beneficiary of multiple touch foul calls

You can play that game if you like, or you can simply acknowledge that win or lose, the Knicks hung with the third best team in the NBA on their home floor for 58 mins on national TV in a game the Celtics were motivated to win...
...without their floor leader and best player.

I call that a Teen Wolf game...
Regarding IQ’s celebrations after every shot and hood play - more power to him. Do whatever it takes to keep himself focused and in the moment. If it gets in the heads of the opponents and their fan base, even better. :)
Folks like RJ could use a little of this when he’s playing tight and over-thinking.
One more note about Quickley he’s been super slippery for the past few months. Most players think they need to literally need to faster and more athletic to be effective. I wonder how much of his improvement can be attributed to taking cues from Brunson game, getting wherever he wants with limited athleticism. Subtle bits of deception and misdirects keep defenders off balance.

Looked like Steph Curry out there dancing!
What's more likely, it fires up the other team, or it fires up Randle? I'll roll with it!
Been listening to Bill Simmons who has been very complimentary on the knicks.
he like others are waking up.
Can't be mad as its takent this 9 game streak to surge into relevancy after meandering few games just over .500.
After how many years and teh DM trade not going thru proof is in the games.
Brunson has shown something nobody really saw coming except perhaps Leon, Perry, and Thibs. Im not sure they even knew, but thats for them to discuss if ever.
Sneaky how good Perry has been as the GM. Likewise the whole knick staff and FO. Very nice progression. That we got here with assets still is the key. we did not leverage ourselves to get here.
It happened organically and some very keen FA signings!
Mazzulla been showing some cracks in what has been a great story so far. He might be in over his head but to be fair the expectations are massove given their run to finals last year. Odaka paid a big price and hope he gets another chance soon, but man oh man did he lose a good thing. I don't know how good his marriage was but he has a kid with Nia Long and thats never cool.
Thibs is married to basketball. A truly higher calling. I called him a "basketball priest" few weeks back.

And Steph Curry has brought it and won rings.
IQ just has to be a little more contained or other folks will it as showboating and it will back fire.
I get the enthusiasm and the fun - you can have those things without appearing to be rubbing it in someone's face.
Celtics-Knicks: The aftermath
Tatum and Horford out vs the Cavs tonight in Cleveland.
Looks like Brown is gonna have to step up big time.

2 ot with a back to back is no joke.
and there is CLEV whom we are trying to catch! Cavs should be on point to get a win and turn things around a bit.

It’s funny. I didn’t think much of Quick’s dancing during the game. Just a happy dude having a great game.
But if he was on the opposing team I would be developing a seething white hot hatred for him.

On the road, with a plane ride last night to boot.
That's super-tough, but it's the NBA. If the Nets can come back from 28, the Celtics can find a way to win.

I never heard anyone call Steph curry’s game “hood play”.
Just curious what makes IQ “hood play” and Steph curry simply dancing and show boating, but ironically no mention of “hood play”. Everything else I agree with. Just curious 🧐 with the word play for one player and not the other. On top of that, curry is a hood dude in comparison to IQ who wears his faith on his shirt for everyone to see and hear.
But whatever gets you going, go for it. As long as it’s not hurting the team. Personally I think IQ is entering the unguardable phase of his development. And he’s starting to believe it with his swag. Plus he’s a sponge. Look how jalen is killing and he’s slower than IQ. You know IQ is studying other players so I’m not surprised at his rise.

"hood play" is just a typo for Good Play

Damn typos.
Well I’m worried he will get a starting gig as a PG somewhere. But if he likes the SG role or 2 PG lineup, I think that position is open. Grimes is caught in a squeeze play if RJ steps up.

When?
Do you know how many good players play out their 4th year on a one year qualifying offer to become a UFA in their 5th?
Like two ever (which isn't that much hyperbole).
