Knicks · Is it possible that the knicks free fall to the lotto (page 1)

Caseloads @ 3/12/2023 10:11 AM
We could get our lotto pick
KnickDanger @ 3/12/2023 10:22 AM
Tankers are back already. Jeez.

Never left.

We need a young PG, a SF and a PF

gradyandrew @ 3/12/2023 12:03 PM
I would rather have 5 second round picks.

So your rationale is to forego the playoff experience as well as excitement for the fanbase and team by tanking in order to move up from like 20 to 14 in the draft?

GustavBahler @ 3/12/2023 12:24 PM
Thibs would never allow it, and good for him.

As been mentioned, playoff experience is more important than a lotto ticket.

We can still make deals for picks, but not until the season is over.

SergioNYK @ 3/12/2023 12:27 PM
This is a new type of mental illness when you still want to tank when your team is 10 games above .500 with 13 games to go LOL

How guys have not learned after RJ, Knox, Obi and what we got from IQ, Grimes and MR picks.
Unless you get a top 2, they all seem to have same odds to make it. No reason to tank nowadays with the talent out there and so many different stages that make it tough to compare true value.

Some fans just enjoy the lottery and draft way more. I personally do not get it. I HATE the draft! Having a 14% chance at the top pick after winning 25 games and scouting and guessing on prospects and then waiting 3 years to see if he's any good is not fun!

ramtour420 @ 3/12/2023 12:36 PM
Well I know for sure that we are not going to tank. Free fall into the lottery and out of the playoffs? No way. We rushed our most important player back from an injury to keep our winning streak intact( dumb move) I am pretty sure if our playoff hopes start to dwindle we will sacrifice Brunsons recovery and ask him to play through it. Knowing how tough he is he will oblige
Caseloads @ 3/13/2023 6:03 AM
What you guys are missing is this: we are the 6 seed now with Brunson injured and out. If we fall to the 7 seed or below, we are a playin team and could miss the playoffs if we lose one or two playin games and then end up in the lotto. It’s really not a far fetched scenario.

Without Brunson, we are no longer blowing out teams - we are blowing leads and getting smushed.

Caseloads @ 3/13/2023 6:07 AM
PS - no one said to tank - I shared that we may free fall, which is possible, even 10 over 500; we could go on a losing streak; ATL or Miami could get hot; etc.

Brooklyn has gotten hot lately and bridges is balling, the nets got incredible value for Durant. Bridges is playing arguably better than Durant played this season, and is durable and nearly 10 years younger.

It's possible that a lot of teams can free fall.

And then what?

Actually in the 3rd post of this very thread. When it was mentioned that the tankers have returned you responded "Never Left". This team does not appear to be a tanking....sorry.... "free fall" type of team.

We need a shooting coach.

RJ needs a shooting coach. Not so sure about the other guys. But yea, no one on this team, with the exception of maybe Fournier and JB, are lights out 100% when wide open.

All true. And although who wouldn’t want better shooting, let us also acknowledge that these guys are not the Golden State Warriors. Talent wise or in philosophy. This is a hard nosed, sometimes over excitable, defense focused, and likable group. Personally I accept their flaws on this fun journey. While also hoping for continued improvement.

Anyway, tanking is for pu$$ies.

I think RJ has been working with Drew Hanlen since high school.

My, my, a 3 game streak made some posters take a dark turn...
jskinny35 @ 3/13/2023 1:26 PM
I thought our draft pick for 2023 was traded away for J.Hart? We have the Mavs 1-10 pick left - is that correct?
