Knicks · How do you think the lotto will play out? (page 1)

I’m thinking that it’ll go like this:

Spurs - wemby
Houston - scoot
Hornets - Miller
Pistons - AT

I'm not sure.

But only because random ping pong balls (due to being an atrocious NBA tank team aka lottery team) are no longer New York Knicks thoughts of mine (anymore).

I'll watch the draft but after the Playoffs.

Either Houston or Spurs getting wemby. The draft lottery is so not rigged.
Nalod @ 3/15/2023 7:32 AM
Miller with Bridges in CLT seems like a natural fit.

Then why respond? There are other playoff discussion threads. Or you should start one.

Weird, both PhilC and NYmentality both released on the same day?

That question answers itself.

30 owners have billions-dollars investments. The owners have squabbles with one another and with the league. There are ex-owners with no obligation or loyalty to the league.

To suggest 30 billionaires all agree to scripts that doesn't favor them, and then keeps this secret bargain a secret even while in two recent cases they league forced them to sell agains their wishes (not to mention ALL the ex-executives that would have to be aware) is absolutely ludicrous.

The nba has revenue sharing. The draft lottery being rigged like the bulls getting Derrick Rose benefit all 30 teams or at least it was the shared perception by all of the owners that would happen. Owners that might have objected in the past like Dolan have been outcast and mocked by the media. Tom Benson getting gifted Anthony Davis for essentially bailing out a lost franchise needing an owner like the then New Orleans Hornets that was losing money explains itself then the same franchise gets Zion a few years later in exchange for trading AD to the lakers which was supposed to be a cash cow for all the teams as they share revenue.

This is all anecdotal conjecture. And doesn't hold up under even light scrutiny.

Yes, the NBA has revenue sharing (and most of the revenue comes from TV revenue which would blow up if the NBA was really like the WWE (but I guess with magnets in the balls so Randle's prayer in Miami went according to script).

But the REAL value for NBA owners is valuation of their teams, which IS significantly effected by competitive factors.

Why would 29 other owners look at what happened to the Warriors (now the team's most valuable franchise) and not want a piece of that? Why would the Clippers and Celtics go along with the Warriors not being valued more than twice as much as they are... in excess of $4 BILLION dollars?

Assuming the second round isn't rigged, why hasn't the NBA made the Warriors trade Draymond Green as a do good to some other team the way the Pelicans got Zion Williamson (who has hardly played and whose team is under .500?)

Imagine the value of the Knicks today if they won just 1 of the 4 chips the warriors have won.

Then explain why Robert Sarver is keeping the NBA's biggest secret today? Check has cleared.

NOBODY EVER has broken the pact?

The logic collapses under its own weight.

WE don't do this when Greg Oden blows his knee, or Sam Bowie over Jordan when you have CLyde Drexler , or zion who rarely plays.
Anthony Bennett?

Connect the dots is easy when the mind is small.
Knicks won 24 games to enter the lottery when we got Ewing. We had cartwright. Ewing was easy the best player but the draft was not that great and many teams got a lot of things wrong.
Karl Malone went 13th, Chris Mullin 7th. X-man 4th. Wince when you look at it. https://www.basketball-reference.com/dra...

Couple of years ago, Kawhi Leonard threw up a tough turnaround baseline jumper, and it hit the rim four times before falling in. Changed the postseason completely.

So you either have to explain how that ball falling in and not out was scripted/orchestrated, and the genuine reactions that ensued were performed (by both) sides, or conversely you need to explain why the NBA would script the draft lottery but NOT the postseason?

Confirmation bias is the mother of conspiracy theory. For every reason you can feverishly imagine X team got Y pick, there are 4 ramifications that make little to no sense in the same line of internal logic.

It really is a shame people can't see through this stuff.

I always enjoy citing how overtly rigged the nba draft is because it makes people wildly angry despite the fact that 1) the draft always goes in some way to benefit the lakers when they suck and/or the nba financially as a whole and 2) it really is not an outrageous conspiracy theory at all.

Btw it’s already leaked out the draft is rigged like AD wearing New Orleans hornets gear a month before the draft or Mutombo congratulating the sixers on winning the lottery 12 hours before it was supposedly done

I don't care but I'd prefer Wembanyama goes out West except San Antonio. They were already spoiled with Duncan and it wouldn't be fair.

But if I had to predict, I would think he goes to Houston or Charlotte. I don't think the draft is rigged but if it is, it makes sense Silver would want him in Houston who has the lowest attendance this season or Charlotte who will get new ownership.
