We a team of streaks. 3 game losing streak means a long winning streak is coming. Hopefully this loss will be the fire to start a new streak.
All I know is cole Anthony (another PG) killed us again. Meanwhile the 4th best defensive PG in the nba is on the bench. In know there’s no room for deuce but when Brunson was out I figured we see thibs give him a few mins, that’s strange.
3pt defense sucks again. Perimeter defense period sucks. Clutch plays was lacking on offense and defense at times. A superstar will carry this team very easy. That’s all we missing to win these types of games.
But led by hot head Randle, it’s going to be a struggle win or lose.
Missed this one thankfully. But it looks like Grimes is breaking his slump.
Randle played better after the tech, but at times it was clear he wasn’t himself, eventhough he looked good as a playmaker to grimes was key. But we need Randle to be cool. All that hot air stresses the team and makes everybody (except grimes lol) play tight.
Can’t say enough about grimes. He’s going to be a beast if not already.

He looked real good. Confident. Jumper wet. Layups in traffic and playmaking to hart for a nasty dunk. Solid all around game.

Got to check his highlights out on YouTube.
we are not advancing in the playoffs. If we match up with Cleveland, they are undefeated in overtime.
Well, 49 wins is still on the table
What obviously needs to happen is for Briggs to create a thread that we will probably end season going 0-10?

Hahaha
I watch these games and RJ sticks out like a flaming turd.
Sorry but kid is brutal defender, can’t handle, pass or shoot — he is a confident mofo though I’ll give him that.
Thibs wets himself trying to get RJ back in game —-it’s laughable.
Obi with nice -25 tonight but will give him benefit of doubt because he played with RJ most of time.
Did I miss a Briggs post saying RJ is GREAT — I must have.
This team can go from looking unstoppable to a team that will get swept. The closer to playoff we get the more unhinged Randle gets. I was confident against the Cavs in the playoff but I am no longer confident vs anyone. We NEED to upgrade from RJ and Randle. They are too inefficient and with Randle also too volatile. We need less ISO and to be more creative on offense. We might get exposed like our last playoff when people can focus on how to stop us or exploit our defensive schemes. We are more talented now but this team sometimes looks really bad.
Yes, RJ was bad here but why are we ISOing with over 13 seconds left on the damn clock? With an already known inefficient player and 0 player movement. The same thing with ISO Randle. This is how we end up with the other players having terrible touches in games. Do we expect them to be in rhythm when they barely get touches? Player movement is how you break down defenses. Every player moving is a decision point that could cause a mistake. Here everyone was just watching RJ fumble the ball. The only decision was when to start running for the fast break to score an easy two points.
Well I guess the jolt we got from the Josh Hart addition was temporary. The team sucks again
besides missing Jalen, I wonder if some of the guys are tired/burned out. I mean RJ can't get by anyone. On defense, guys look like their feet are in cememt.
My biggest concern with Thibs has been him burning guys out so when they get to the playoffs, they have zero left.
That win streak and great play was our guys overachieving. They simply have nothing left to give.
Hence teams lighting us up from 3.
Fundamentally, drive and kick works if you have good 3pt shooters, which we don't have.
That first half was brutal. RJ lead the stink parade but he was not alone.
Even when they tied it up, it looked bad.
Grimes looked great. If not for him it was a blowout loss.
I thought Quick was dancing too much with the ball and the team was standing around.
Randle was grumpy again.
Maybe they cracking under the weight of a tight playoff race?
Lots of blame to go around.
NBATV had the Magic broadcast. It was brutal.
Turned it off at half time. Still expected the come back, but decided time was better spent elsewhere.
Randle with Brunson is an All NBA player on a fantastic contract! Randle without Brunson is a headcase and tough to root for. Going off the game thread, sounds like he had a better 2nd half.
It's up to Thibs now. Team faltering, questionable effort at times, poor execution at others. Got 7 games left to fine-tune this team for the post-season. Let's see some COY magic!

If I say it Im an RJ hater. It was so bad. The problem is when he's not scoring he's just so bad. Its the next big thing for the FO/Thibs to fix IMO

So no more max extension for the Hart-Break Kid?

The roster does look tired. Not sure what the solution is. Maybe give Julius and RJ a coach’s DNP for one game. Home facing Rockets would be the ideal game to do it. They do this in mlb all the time and no one bats an eye. We are trying to keep the 5th seed however
