Yes the last few games have sucked. However, do not feel it is because the team is not as good as we thought. Just going through what most teams go through when they have an injury to a key player.
In the land of pessimism I offer this:
We needed Grimes to get going. He has.
We needed RJ to go to the basket more and stop settling for jump shots. He has.
We needed a stronger bench, like we had last year. IQ, Ihart and JHart are there.
Our offense is still playing well. Will be back to high level when JB is back.
We have the Rockets, Wiz and Pacers 4 out of last 7, who will hopefully be focused on their tankathon.
Heat have Nets, Raptors, Mavs, Knicks and Sixers. Teams all fighting for playoff positions.
I am hoping we do not rush JB back. Just let him be 100 for last three games.
Hoping Randle gets his mental game together by then. Hopefully uses the last two games to reflect on.
Guys like Obi and RJ get it going.
Thibs uses this three day break to work on teams 3pt defense/rotations.

there is an enormous amount of positives to point to.
RJ included. Im rooting hard for him.
That was are here fighting for the 5th IN THE 5th should not be lost totally. A lot of good things have happend to get here!
Bright side to me is that the futility is happening now instead of in two weeks. Struggling with effort and execution. Randle having his moment last night needs to remember to breath. 7 more games to calm things down, get back to fundamentals and recharged for the postseason.
This 3 day break is very much welcomed so guys can rest up (Brunson getting an additional 2 days off in the process). No more back to backs.

Bingo
We are a team of streaks.
I rather start a winning streak heading into the playoffs. This was also the knicks eating humble pie. They needed this wakeup call. And based on passed games, this team rebounds very well, from a losing streak. And the last 3 loses is an example that we can't sleep on any team, regardless who's in or out. I think not having their two stars, knick players thought this would be a cake walk.
Is the expectation that we are elite now? Swapping Cam for Hart doesnt change that we are still a very young team and not very top heavy. Randle and Brunson are really good players but these arent guys you sit back and expect you to take over win you games in the last 2 minutes.
Knicks have a lot of work to do but talent and culture have both been big upgrades. We are an analytic team focused on maximizing personel and there's a lot of player development happening. There's gonna be ups and downs.

Have always said that success or failure is based on pre conceived expectations.
Elite? Hmm. Maybe? Why not? Can be argued that elite teams are ones that most teams do not want to face in the playoffs. We could be that.
Was talking more this year. But in terms of long term optimism, many of the things you mentioned above are definitely a plus.(age, fact we don't have a true number one, good assets)
Point about having a finisher is valid. Only issue is the league only has a few of those.

Agree with thia. Would add that going into playoffs being 100% healthy is also quite important.
We are a middle of the pack team.
NBA parity is practically a thing. We had a hot streak. Not now. Who is best put together for a playoff run, gels, and avoids major injuries going forward? Could be the Knicks - right now doesn’t look so hopeful but we’ve seen multiple ups and downs this season. All that said, the franchise is in the best condition for fan hope in decades to my mind. Go New York go New York go!

There’s only 3-4 teams better than good right now. Unfortunately I think we bump into one of them the sixers in round 1. Harden will be getting 40+ free throws per game
I loved that Doncic made that money gesture at the ref. I also live Van Fleet let the ref have it too. Refs are on FanDuel and that why some players will take 40 free throws a game, including Doncic soon
Kudo’s to assistant coach Johnny Bryant who has rep to work and improve guards. His work with IQ, Duece and perhaps even Brunson who got to another level as a knick.
On the bright side…………
Also where the sun shines, Randle anger is an issue because he is playing so damn well and we trending to playoffs.
IQ as. Reliable off the bench performer for Brunson to get well and as a trade chip. If someone things he is starter material and wants to pay him, they might trade for him. IQ commments are ok, and he should state his goals and create a market for his services.
On the bright side is either regressing, or having difficulty playmaking. He makes a good play, nobody writes about it. Mess up, we all over that shit. KNicks are 5th seed at this moment with him. Knicks got to 5th seed with him. RJ in the paint is better. Getting to the line more. But some want to kick a knick every year. I get it. Someone has to pay for our pent up frustrations.

This internet gambling crap is out of control. The refs were already degenerate gamblers now all they need to do is play games on a phone

No.
We're not.
There are 30 NBA teams.
"Middle of the pack" = 15th.
And the Knicks have the 8th best Record within the entire NBA.
"Middle of the pack" my ass.

Middle of the pack is #6 to #25. Knicks are middling

We are 2.5 games out of the play-in. That’s as middle as it gets.

That would still put the Knicks as a top 10 NBA team.
Knicks have the 8th best Record within the entire NBA
That's the opposite of "middle of the pack".

In today's NBA there are really only three tiers. There are the elite contenders, there are the really awful tanking teams and then you have the middle of the pack teams which is most of the league. I think we are a very good middle of the pack team.

14 teams-basically half the entire nba- has between 45 and 37 wins. We have 43. If you want to pretend we are an elite team fine the stats don’t back it up
You really think Refs are crooked and are not INTENSELY subject to oversight? You got this and nobody else does?
I get that Donnahy used bookies. I'd think using online sites with winnings liked to bank accounts are subject to disclosure as requirement for employment.
Donnahy was derelict and went to jail for his crimes.
If you attach your name to accusation without proof I'd think you could be subject to civil liable making such claims and damaging a persons reputation.
But we don't do that do we?
