Knicks · Quick Draft Question (page 1)

I know that the Dallas pick is pending, and it doesn't look all that good for the Knicks. We also traded away our own first round pick for Hart.

My question, do we have any picks in the first round left. This is what I get from the internet

Our own traded to Portland in deal for Josh Hart)
DAL Top-10 protected (pending)
DET Top-18 protected (via HOU to OKC)
WAS Top-14 protected (via HOU to OKC)

Will either of the last two convert?

My guess, it’s either Dallas pick or nothing. Det and WAS will not make the playoffs so they will get a higher pick which are top18 and top14 protected.

These teams will have to make the playoffs to pick lower than the protected range. But Dallas can miss the playoffs and we can still get their pick. I’m hoping for pick 11.

But hart was our 1st round selection and I doubt there’s anybody in the draft who would impact this team like hart has done. Thibs is not playing a rookie over the vets. Or his favorite yoots (IQ, Grimes and Obi). So whoever we select they will most likely sit or worse case get deuce mins. They probably end up in the gleague.

Thanks, that's what I thought, but wasn't sure. Unless we package some picks, we're not going to have the most exciting draft this year

Knicks fans will be so hung over from the playoff run that we are about to embark on that it won't even matter

Yeah...We're going from at least 2 #1s earlier in the year, to the potential for none at all.

I looked at the same stuff you posted a week or so ago and realized we might very well not get any pick in the 1st.

Still a chance with the Dallas pick. Them beating the Kings was big for us.

They play the Bulls and Spurs, 2 winnable games.

Don’t rule out the Dallas pick yet. Take a look at my post towards the end of “Dallas Pick Watch” thread. There’s still multiple scenarios where we can still get the pick, and it ultimately comes down to them winning the Chicago game tomorrow.

Otherwise if the Knicks like a player later in the draft I bet they can trade one of those future protected picks for an Indiana pick, as they have so many picks this year. It’s not the Knicks MO but I wouldn’t rule it out as they have done well in the late first round lately and may like a player.
