Regarding the bolded: I think the Knicks will make upgrades if it doesn't cost them too much (and that's a very big grey area), we saw this in the Donovan negotiations.
I think things will point to the 2025 offseason as the next best way to nap that last piece; it's when a lot of free agents have opt outs and the Knicks are in a decent'ish position with their salary cap.
I think we will get more hints as to how and what the FO is thinking with the IQ/Josh Hart extensions, ie how big they are.
IMO next year will be another big test for each of the players and how they perform and it'll point to if they keep those players or not long term or if they will be moved. Brunson ain't going nowhere but Randle/RJ as your top 3 options are very very iffy. Not that they aren't really good, but are they consistently good enough for EC Finals level and beyond.

This is pretty much my exact feelings. We have to fix the problem but I am not just giving away Randle for pennies. So I don't want us to go into the season thinking that running it back is the best action but if nothing good presents it self running it back might be the best option for this offseason.

We totally agree on the bolded part. My problem is not going into the offseason with the mentality that we need to run this back. Running it back might be the best option depending on how things turn out but we need to be looking for better fitting parts.
