Knicks · Who buys, who sells, who is desperate to make a deal..... (page 1)

1. Dallas. Don't know the timeline but Luka will want out one of these days if they don't get help sooner than later.
Two years before free agency is not uncommon. Kyrie stays or goes? And what becomes of the pick?

2. Portland. Dames contract is massive. He'll be 33 and could be looking at at 35 he gets two more years at 58 and 63million per.
Love the guy. Not sure they continue to build around him but he signed that extension as if so. I can see them trading their draft pick unless its Webenyama.

3. ATL. They go another year with the Trae and Dejaunte thing? He is unrestricted next summer.

4. Minny. Strong showing by KAT at seasons end should be encouraging. Rudy is a bit out of favor this week? Yah Think?

5. Lakers. Since AD came back and post trade they are very good. If Lebron can stay healthy this gets really interesting.

6. Clippers. You have Kyrie on one end, and Kawhi on the other of the spectrum. He has a player option at the END of next season. Same for Paul George. Interesting paring.

7. Thunder. They are Sam Hinkies wet dream done better.

8. Orlando. Depends on where they land in Lottery but they are not awful. They like "Wizards" not awful.

9. Rockets. Moved on from Silas which Im not sure is justified. Webenyama will determine their fate. Either way they are bringing in Vet leadership?

As Briggs proclaimed we have an "Embarrassment of Riches" and can deal. Many ways to go depending on who is available.
From Luka (cuban likley would have to call us first!) to Rockets were we trade our quality yoot for one of their wildings and everything in between.

2 teams I am keeping an eye on: Portland might feel like it’s time to blow it up. Jeremi grant would be good here. Maybe a sign and trade of Barrett and a couple of picks for grant. Also, Atlanta has a new front office and typically a front office wants to rebuild to do it their way plus it buys them more time. A new front office isn’t telling ownership this Atlanta roster is good enough. They tear it down and it buys them 4 years before any pressure. Murray is someone the Knicks could use. Again it would be Barrett and picks. But I wouldn’t want to force a trade. We have the upward trajectory to keep building.

Murray? Knicks already have IQ, Grimes, Brunson, Deuce?

I agree. I just think he’s more of a wing than a point. Defensively he can guard 1-3.

What are the Wizards doing with KP and Kuzma? Can they really keep Beal? This is a team with talent that doesn't work right, so they will more than likely have to unload a cpl of good players

Wiz are in a weird place. They could have been one of the suprise east teams (we grabbed that) if things fell into place. Beal missed big part of early season and curious how many games he and KP played, and how did it go with the three of them? Kuzma value is high when he kills us but when he is not on his defense does not compensate.
Is Deni ready to make the next move up? KP had his best year, can he stay healthy?

Having lived in the DC area, I can tell you a lot of wiz fans didn't like the direction of the team. Resigning beal to that max never made any sense. Their draft history aside of Kispert has been abysmal. I think Wizards are better off doing a firesale but its gonna be hard to tarade some of their contracts

Fans are hindsight centric to and given their stagnation at 35-47 for each of the last two years its to be expected. I was surprised they gave up on Hachimura as they did but Kuzma is an upgrade at a high price?
They are in that no-mans land of low lottery and perhaps look to move Beal at some point? They had a nice little bubble run with westbrook few years back after the bad John wall experience and have a hole to dig out of still.

Dallas has limited ability to upgrade. Trading kyrie to the heat could work for Bam

You thinking sign and trade? Kyrie is a free agent. What could Miami give to Dallas that helps them now and respect to Miami's cap?
Lowrey is toast, Duncan Robinson is not all that, and the rest of the team is sort of cobbled names.
Also, Riley is a whore, but he go that deep to marry up with kyrie for more than a year?
More likely Kyrie signs with Mavs, and if it don't go well perhaps trade afterwards, but his act is getting stale.

I have said this before, Kyrie might want to win, but his passions lie with his foundation work and it requires MONEY. So it's within reason he stays were the money is best.

Everything depends on the playoffs. No reason to speculate until they are over.

True. We have to assign blame, then extract that player/coach as assumed once gone the issue is too.
But its never like that. If you remove you have to actually improve it better than conceptually. change itself is not improvement.
But playoffs have to start before they can be over!!!!
TPercy @ 4/12/2023 1:54 PM
Looks like Miami fans really wanna start over or at the very least trade Bam for someone who can help. Issue is that riley don't want a rebuild so best they could do is retool which is going to be hard with so many bad contracts
blkexec @ 4/12/2023 2:40 PM
Start by looking at the play-in losers like the Wolves who choked yesterday. KAT played well in the 1st half, then I fell asleep. I'm told their young up and coming superstar (Edwards) had a terrible game though, which is probably why they lost. They was up 20 plus in the first half and lost in OT.

Losing will add pressure on the FO to make some changes. I'm just not sure if KAT is the guy we want at center. (Would you swap KAT for Randle?) He reminded me of the old Randle. Played great in the first half, did not show up in the 4th and could not handle double teams. Now sure we want that on this team, but KAT has a lot of offensive tools in his bag.

jskinny35 @ 4/12/2023 6:26 PM
Yep - not a fan of KAT and think we should only tie up big money/contracts for two-way players under 32... not sure how many are there out there but know there aren't too many which makes it tougher.

2 way players under 28 is my threshold.

Knixkik @ 4/12/2023 7:54 PM
Whoever loses this bulls Raptors game might be rebuilding big time this summer. LaVine and/ or Anunoby will probably be brought up again this summer.
TPercy @ 4/12/2023 8:34 PM
This bulls team lacks so much depth. What even is this lineup
TPercy @ 4/12/2023 8:35 PM
Bulls don't have their 2025 pick though. They'll probably jkeep it up until then

1. I think Dallas resigns Kyrie and tries to build around him and Doncic

2. Calling it now…Portland is getting the #1 pick and Dame and Webenyama are going to run the league next season

3. Trae is still a huge defensive liability but Quinn had them playing some really good ball against the Heat last night. It’s going to be interested when he can do with Trae (offensively) after a full camp

4. Rudy is done and Minn are stuck with him. Dumbest trade in NBA history

5.Lakers are my dark horse. Lakers vs GS in the second round will be fun to watch

6. I can’t see Kawhi leaving LA. That was his dream destination

7. SGA future MVP

8. Orlando is a future contender. They are one experienced vet player from leap frogging half the East teams

9. Houston sucks and Green is terrible
