I want the knicks to win. We need more from our youth. Making the playoffs is not enough. We need to see growth and increase in confidence from game to game.

Case, your threads are underwhelming for me.
The threads are so chaotic for a team that just retook home court advantage in the playoffs. Anyways, regarding this topic, this series so far as drove down Quickleys value in terms of an extension. He needs to show up this series to push 100M on a 4-year extension. And thats best case scenario for him now when it felt like a given 1 week ago. Hart is earning his contract no doubt, but he’s not getting the upside contract. Grimes still has time. He value should continue to improve over time. Barrett got the big contract already, but I wouldn’t be surprised if the Knicks try to offload it to a team with cap space this summer. A rebuilding team like Houston, Orlando, detriot, utah etc that has a ton of cap space and extra picks would likely be interested in absorbing the contract and maybe sending back a protected pick or two. Barrett has value on a rebuilding team. Knicks just need more guys like Hart. No nonsense guys who just show up when it counts. I’m a huge quickley fan and don’t want to overreact too much on two games, but this is the playoffs and you need to show up when it counts. Quickley had momentum leaning towards 3rd star, but that gets erased quickly in the playoffs. Now he’s back to streaky 6th man.
I’d rather have these guys rock out and get paid. Not much of a silver lining for me here.

Those rebuilding teams have some yoot themselves and it would be hard for them to take on Barrett deal with the question marks we all thought were answered prior to this year.
They also have players that need to be extended for traded also.
Thus to move Barrett we then pay a premium to do so.
To draft a player takes on other question marks. To obtain a sure thing type player, you pay a premium. So we pay coming and going on a player we are emotional on.
Where is the rest of RJ's game? The in lane floaters, the mid range jumper, and the seemingly improved to the rim that earned him 49% from 2pt in the regular season? He again avg'd 19.5 pts per.
He did a good job on Garland first game. few if any can stay in front of him BTW. As for Deuce, his offense has not been solid to earn playoff minutes. Grimes and IQ have not contributed as hoped in two games.
But, we are tied 1-1. Lets see how we punch back.
Only underwhelming because you over valued them
If you’re honest with yourself and see them for what they are and stop blaming everything around them, you will see they are exactly where they’re supposed to be.

I believe limiting teams to 2 players on rookie extensions would be a major factor in any team taking on Barrett.
