Knicks · holy **** Brunson is a closer (page 1)

you gotta trap and double cause he's gonna get to his spot and hit shots. Its sick. They KNEW he was taking the shot and couldn't do shit. That's vs. the best defense in the league. That's Jalen Brunson
Knixkik @ 4/23/2023 4:07 PM
He’s just the absolute best. He always shows up when it matters. He’s a franchise player.
VDesai @ 4/23/2023 4:09 PM
I think Mitchell is a great player, but Brunson is better than Mitchell. Leadership gene, Clutch gene. Winning gene.

Brunson at least tries on defense. I can't recall Mitchell making as many effort plays.

He made some huge effort plays in game 1 and 2 with his length and hustle. But he just doesnt make others better the way Brunson does. And he can fall out of the game like today

there's no magic or mystery. Its almost Jokic like from a guard position. He just gets to his spots and executes like he's done his 1000x before and fully believes this will be 1001 cause why wouldnt it be???

The best is his IQ. He just always makes the right plays. Even with some of his defensive shortcomings he never makes mistakes and he usually overcomes with effort. Kinda feels like we are seeing something special.

The Jokic comp is spot on.

Honestly this series has been really simply. Its Brunson vs. Mitchell and the rest of Knicks vs. the rest of the Cavs. Based on those two matchups we up 3-1

VDesai @ 4/23/2023 4:16 PM
Brunson actually reminds me most of Hakeem even though he is 6'1". All that shake in bake is unguardable.
franco12 @ 4/23/2023 4:22 PM
I said this before: Brunson=Larry Bird.

He isn't the most athletic player, but he is a winner, can get his shot off whenever he wants and is deceptively quick.

I hated Larry, I love Jalen.

martin @ 4/23/2023 4:36 PM
Believe it or not, I’d like Brunson to be even a better passer.

With his dribble and footwork, I think there are a ton of Harden like passes to bogs and cutters he misses. Next year though, I think he can get to double digit assists if Mitch can figure out how to work with moving into space the way iHart does

watch him.. he shoots those short mid range shots with mostly wrists. The point is he needs so little space and time and he just hits them like he's been taking that shot in his driveway since he was 7. The real magic (and work) is the handle. His ability to shake and bake to GET to that spot is what makes him so special. That is ALL hard work man... its really wild.

He's also really strong. He's got a body type and center of gravity most defenders are not used to dealing with. He surely takes advantage of that.

Yes to this and everything else. I’ve mentioned this to Andrew offline a bunch: Brunson has elite strength in his wrist and shooting hand. Dude shows it every time and it’s beautiful

GustavBahler @ 4/23/2023 4:57 PM
Reminds me of Tim Hardaway Sr. but with a fadeaway.

+100

He plays at his pace and gets to his spots. He is money from the right side, elbow extended...

I don’t know who’s better.. I’d just rather have Brunson

DM is a better player.

Not for me, DM is just the better athlete.

I agree. He really is a 6'2" Larry Bird
