McBride against gabe Vincent and Lowry
Let randle recover one more game
Go at jimmy butler
When Kevin love is in, avoid the touchdown full court pssses
Go to Mitch more on offense
If grimes is good to go, start him vs butler
Attack the paint more, get bam in foul trouble
Go big vs the heat - make them play to you
Run run run- do not do half Court sets
Play 9 men; not 8
And Josh hart and obi need to stop shooting so many 3s
Take the ball inside, apply pressure, draw fouls, make the heat pay
The heat got beat in the first half in the paint, second half denied the paint and allowed the knicks to shoot jumpers - obi should never take 11 threes in a game, let alone playoffs.
Rare egg from Brunson- he seemed detached. Fight with his girl?
1. Luck
2. Hope Butler sits out
3. Hope Vincent, Lowry, Straus, Robinson and Love have an offnight shooting the threes.
4. Hope we get a neutral and fair zebras and we make 75% of our FT's.
5. Hope Rob and Hart get offensive rebounds.
6. Hope Randle plays and is at least 80% of himself.
7. Hope Brunson has a monster 40 point game and hits some threes.
8. Hope IQ hits some shots and plays better defense on Lowry.
9. Hope we can hit 10 threes.
10. Hope Miami players get the flu or got hung over partying in NYC.
The NBA implemented the rule during the 2001 season. It states that defensive players cannot stay in the restricted area (the paint or the lane) for more than 3 seconds if they are not actively guarding an offensive player. If a team commits this violation, they are awarded a technical foul.
It seems like this would be the key if Miami is going to load up with 5 guys in the paint.

I was going to rewatch the second half to prove this and on the first possession Bam does it. Can't make this shit up.

If Randle can play, he will play. You don't have the luxury of "recovery" if he can go. This is the season on the line. You don't want to go down 0-2 then go to Miami. Season over.
If I’m just calling it how it is, Knicks are playing with house money this series and whatever happens happens. I think we caught a break playing Miami, it gives us a chance. But the Knicks just need to shoot better. This team is not playing with enough confidence shooting the ball and guys like grimes and Quickley need to shake the playoff nerves at some point. They are acting like they just aren’t ready. Quickley had a nice finish to the last series because at that point it became obviously the Knicks were a significantly better team and Quickley was playing free and stress free. But now he and the rest are back to playing uptight and the shooting is typically where it shows. The Knicks aren’t ready for this stage. First round they played a team that also wasn’t ready. Now they are playing a team that is ready, with guys like Lowry and Love who save their bodies and mindset for this. So in the short term Knicks need to figure out how to play loose and play free. But they need to learn from whatever transpires the rest of the way so next season they are more ready. And maybe add another player who can shoot and is more playoff tested.

Love #1, #2, and #10.
The key will be hitting 25%+ of their 3's. Last game they hit 7/34. Alan Hahn made a post about this - many of these were open or "wide open" looks. If they hit 9/34, it would have changed the game.

Miami played the second half with Bam standing in the middle of the paint, making a half assed effort every few seconds to extend his arm in Robinson's direction. This really mocked up the drive and kick game as Brunson RJ and Hart had no room to shoot or pass once they got into the paint. Other playoff teams aren't allowed to do this. You won't see other teams with a guy planted in the middle guarding no one for 5-6 seconds.
Knicks played well in the first half with RJ and Brunson getting into the paint. It would be great if the Knicks hit more 3's but that hasn't been their strength all season (at least in terms of accuracy).

Its Roy Hibbert defensive 3 seconds all over again- but easy solve, keep playing your game, make the open shots they are giving you at a league average clip and we win.

If Brunson and Julius are hurt while playing then let them be decoys to allow the Heat to focus on them so RJ and Quick can go off…. And we need to hit our damn shots.
And lets all ignore Shaq tonight. Listening to him makes my soul squeal in pain.

Quick needs to hit his shots for that strategy to work.

I only have one thing to say about this. Mumble-mumble-mumble.
All right maybe that’s three things.
Knicks would've been down 0-2 if Coach Tom Thibs would've SAT + BENCHED + DNP'd JULIUS RANDLE Tonight (his #1 DOG).

Julius Randle Game-2 vs. Miami.
37 MINUTES.
25 POINTS.
12 REBOUNDS.
8 ASSISTS (resulting in 20 Points).
NY doesn't SNIFF A WIN TONIGHT (WITHOUT JULIUS RANDLE).

Would add that he would have had over 12 assists if not for open shots that were missed.
However, we would not have this game without JB, JHart, IHart and RJ as well.
But yes, Randle in the lineup is a big problem for Miami.
