Knicks · Watching Lowry at 37, Really a shame that D Rose is cooked at 34 (page 1)

Caseloads @ 5/1/2023 5:25 AM
Sad that rose is unable to play meaningful minutes anymore- is he really that far gone?

Glad he mentored our youth, but could do that as an assistant coach, but then the adidas money goes away

Note to Casegoods if your married. Don’t compare your spouse to others who might look better at their age than your spouse.
if so, keep it to your self.
We got here with Yoot. We keep going with them. Lowrey is paid 33mil. About double of Drose.
MS @ 5/1/2023 9:16 AM
I think DRose has a couple more games in him.

Same way McBride could come in and get all over there guards.

Like EF, in the few appearances Rose had in the last couple months of the season, he gave us ZERO. He is either cooked, or beyond rusty.

I don’t think Rose is cooked. He just shut it down mentally and physically. It’s hard to get those old legs up and running, unless there was consistent mins for him. Ironically the person who made him sit is now sitting next to him. 🤣

40 is the new 30. Drose is looking for life after basketball. Doesn’t mean he can’t hoop, just chose not to for the betterment of the team/ yoots. He should be praised instead of ridiculed.

He got old quick.

I agree. If you look at his injury history even the last few years and how bad they were its easy to see that it sucks the life out of mortal men. He was able to resurrect to prove the talent but his body betrayed him. The Adidas money was substantial as was the gratification of succeeding when healthy and able.
Thats been few and farther between. He has not been the same since January of 2022.
There is but so much rehab a person can take. He kept at it and earned a lot of respect from it.
Shame his career was cut as it was. Might be the first league MVP not to earn an HOF induction.

TheGame @ 5/2/2023 7:58 AM
D Rose can still play just like EF can still play. Thibs just noted their defensive deficiencies and decided it was time to give the youts a chance. That does not mean Rose is cooked. In fact, I anticipate that we release Rose this summer and he goes on to provide 10-15 quality minutes for an another contender next year.

We are really sweating 37 yr old Kyle Lowry for looking like he had a pulse for the first time in 2 years?

No. But Lowry must be sweating something good, he doesn't look AS fat as usual.

Saw a cpl Nova boys in front of him and needed to save face. I'm not worried about Lowry, and we also need to get over the fact Rose and Fournier are NOT playing.

Nalod @ 5/2/2023 12:15 PM
Heat been prepping all year for playoffs. Get Love in shape and in synch, and Lowrey also. If they had a healthy team (as if) they'd be even scarier.
Not sandbagging, but make a splash when it counts. They did vs. Bucks.
Im not talking shit about them until they are in the rear view mirror!

their games are so different. You know who will still be scoring in the paint at 37? Brunson

Lowry is 1 fast twitch defensive play from being out for weeks.
The thing about Lowry was that he was a fierce ball hawk in his younger days, whereas Rose never had that mentality nor ability.

I bet Rose could still do damage on offense. If the offense is feeling stagnant and can’t buy a bucket, why not test out Rose (and Fournier) for a few minutes to see if they can get the offense going? I reckon Thibs is nervous about losing a few points here and there when Rose doesn’t fight through a screen or make a crisp switch - from that standpoint, you have to trust McBride a bit more.
