Knicks · Who on the market is a shooter version of Josh Hart? (page 1)

Knixkik @ 5/6/2023 8:32 PM
Like a scrappy shooter that you know is a gamer and won’t hurt in other areas. I won’t let this loss ruin the awesome momentum this team has going. The franchise is headed in a great direction. Clearly we need shooting but can’t react the way we did in 2021 offseason where we add guys like Kemba and fournier that take away from what worked. So whether it's a free agent or trade candidate, who is that guy that is proven and can offer some floor stretching ?
BigDaddyG @ 5/6/2023 8:40 PM
Those guys aren't really available. It's the reason the corpse of Danny Green and guys like KCP are still running around and Masai is asking for 10 first round picks for Anunoby. A guys like Donate Divicenzo might be the best we can hope for and I think he's outside our price range.

I think Donte can be had for the MLE if he wants to be here.

We have a lot of trade power. Let’s let the playoffs play out. I still think we can do things

You’re right but a team that can’t shoot has its limitations.

Panos @ 5/6/2023 10:55 PM
Marcus Morris Sr
gradyandrew @ 5/7/2023 2:22 AM
Terrence Ross and Alec Burks.
Caseloads @ 5/7/2023 3:42 AM
Burks will want PT

We already have McBride with zero minutes who needs burn

How about grimes and quick mature and grow as scorers

CanItGetAnyWorse @ 5/7/2023 4:31 AM
Grimes

Burks for the bench cause you never, ever z ever have enough shooting from the wing, Bring Rokas over cause you need a big ball handler to pair with Brunson when they double team Brunson. You also need a more rugged back up 4. Those are the quick moves that can be done without making major moves. Rokas and Burks can be had with the MLE and the vet min. You can keep Obi or not but acquire a back up 4 in FA or in a trade using picks and Deuce or Evans contract. Or you can throw in lots of picks and Evans deal for OG. You can start OG at the 3. Then you play RJ as the back up 3 and 4 for 30 mins a game. Knicks have assets to fix the team. But we still in this series. Shooting is always useful. We need our own Kevin Love, maybe we trade for Bojan Bognovich to be our back up 3/4 ?

I like everything but the OG part. OG is not a shooter. He is a premium role player defender. Gary Trent JR, however, is cheaper and gives much more of what this team needs. A guy like Burks would be great he plays both sides. What Evan Fournier WAS on the Magic would be nice in a lineup with Deuce-Quickley- Grimes-iHart/Mitch (or similiar lineup-with Grimes and Quick in their semi useful forms), imo. I think this team needs a little vet seasoning that actually contributes.

Burks
Harrison Barnes
Seth Curry
Will Barton
TJ Warren
Danny Green

Guys I would be interested in just from scanning the FA list quick.

Burks and Bogdanovic are both interesting because the Knicks have a good trade relationship with Detroit and they also own the Detroit 1st round pick and their 2024 2nd rounder which I’m sure Detroit would love back.

Pass on Burks. He’s a nice player but we have guys that will get better.

McBridge is surprisingly athletic I would rather give him some time going forward and let Grimes develop.

Philc1 @ 5/7/2023 8:35 AM
Besides signing Burks Knicks should look at trading Randle and IQ while their market value is at an all-time high this offseason

Not asking him to be in the primary rotation you always need vets in case of emergency and injury. Great teams have benches with these kind of vets

Sounds great in theory but we are talking about guys who aren’t afraid of the playoff environment.

Their market value is no longer at a high. IQ has been knocked down. Suggesting to trade Randle is never realistic because you won’t get a player as good as him back. Plus he doesn’t miss many games and puts us in position to be a playoff team. He is very good in the regular season. We just need a team where he’s not relied as a second guy in the playoffs.
