This regime is married to Randle. They are not trading him unless it's for a superior player and no team is making that trade. I'm talking about Randle plus prospects and picks for someone like Embiid, Giannis or Luka. Those trades are impossible. We're stuck with Randle.

Didn’t the Nets get to this point and then go the superfriends route? How’d that work out? The wrinkle here is that there are 14 other players on the team and Randle has to be a drain on team chemistry when he doesn’t give effort. Still, I don’t see how we move on from Randle yet. He is a headcase but he is our headcase. The lack of effort needs to be addressed.

My guess would be for a very good role player. As well as picks, maybe cap space. To a contender that needs depth.

Any fool defending Randle after watching that should be packaged with Julius when we trade him for Booker/Durant
You can’t have a bad ankle when you want to loaf around on D but at the same time fly down the court and dunk on someone on same ankle - doesn’t work that way.
You can either move or not —- pain isn’t dependent on offense/defense —- so silly the injury excuses.

No chance this regime does this.

Randle looks way more healthier than Brunson too. That ankle is no longer an excuse for Randle imo.

I’d be looking at guys like Porter Jr, Kuzma, Miles Bridges (if his legal situation is resolved) —— some young 4’s that we can play real offense with —- though we need a long defender as well.
I don’t know.

If this is the best we see from Randle in the playoffs, I could see it happening.
Cap space to bring in another star. A shooter to boost our 3 point offense, some draft picks to replace the ones we might use in a trade for a star.

That FO and those players got us past the first round for first time in years. Have given us lots of cap flexibility. Have given us a stash of draft picks.
Overhaul the FO?. Nah

Feels more like the new JR Smith. Melo never imploded the way Randle does in a game, in crunch time.
Before his body started breaking down, Melo was the most clutch player in the league. Could never say that of Randle.
Randle is no Melo. Melo loved the spotlight and pressure.
Problem is, who can Thibs go to? Ravishing Obi?

Any fool who blames solely Randle for costing us the season is a moron.
Including the quoted Twit.
The fan who is a fool may want to look at the Knicks overall shooting percentage to buy a clue as to why we are down in the series.

Karl Anthony Towns has been in the air. I don’t imagine they’d want a combustible player like Randle though

Whatever happens, dont believe we have to hit a home run to justify this move. As in MVP caliber player.
More like the names you mentioned. Would be additional compensation I imagine.
I know the FO wont hold a fire sale. But there are different ways to create value for the team than going for the big fish. We have some great talent evaluators in the FO.

I'd be happy with either Bridges, obviously prefer Mikal given the magic with JB & Hart.
But - he is a restricted FA. Does Charlotte want to keep him? Is there a S&T we can make that makes sense? Fournier, Obi & some draft capital sure would be an upgrade.

The Nets are not going to trade Bridges, they have said as much several times. They intend to build around him. Charlotte has been in lock step with Miles through the entire process and he is a lock to sign there. No chance on either Bridges. If I were either team however I would ask for Brunson and Hart, not Randle

Please explain where this cap flexibility is because I don't see it. Also our stash of draft picks are not exactly premium picks. Not trying to poke the bear, just want to insert a little reality
I think Randle as part of a bigger trade makes sense. IM sure we all have great and better ideas the morning after but reality is every GM knows the good, the bad, and the ugly with him.
For now, We got Obi and he did not step up. They have Jimmy, Bam and a rejuvenated Lowrey who is more spry at the moment then Brunson. Jimmy is better than any of our wings, and Bam is no doubt better than our bigs/Randle.
Blame they are better team for now.
