Buddies, gentleman, and perverts, what do you guys think it would cost to get Paul George ?
Nalod @ 5/17/2023 9:09 AM
Not without John and Ringo!
I think RJ will be as good as him in a few years. I pass. Salary is out of whack and his injuries are a concern.

You might as well go for Pete Best and Yoko. Wanting to overpay for cap crushing broken down stars - why is this a thing?

Oh, but when a starphuch works its all the rage!

I never realized how good Paul George was. I'm not saying he is the answer- rather have someone like him after the buyout.

But, I do think if the price is right, then adding a broken down star, like PG, Thompson. Green, et al is worth taking a look at.

But it has to be cheap - we can help other teams out of their cap hell without getting value back.

I mean, what is the tax penalty that GS is looking at this coming season?

I'm holding out for Jimmy Page

We're all just shooting from the hip here. Of course Paul George is a terrific talent and of course getting him for cheap would be amazing. But look at games played last 4 years - 48, 54, 31, 56. Not to mention missing the playoffs this year. Two more years salary due at 46 and 49 million. Do you think the Clippers would just cut him? i can't imagine. So what do you give up for him? Think the Clips will take all garbage? Doubt it. I'm sure many if not most here want to include Randle in the deal. Are we a better team with PGeorge in a suit than with feisty Randle on the floor? Not to me.

Funny too how some guys get old at 33 like PG and Rose but not a Jimmy But.

I see lots of classic rock references. What no mention of the bros Davies or Mick and the Stones ? Give it up to some more British invasion folks

Butler essentially plays like a power forward now. Similar to Lebron. They post up on offense and camp in the paint on defense and the refs look away never calling them for defensive 3 seconds violation

I agree. PG is way too old now and the clippers will want way too much.

He'd have to come cheaper
George never is on Court long enough for Team to compete and advance. Older he gets more injured prone he's shown.

It would cost an all world level medical staff, an over pay on a slightly above average backup that can cover for him for 40 games, and designing an offense that is as effective with him out of the line up as it is with him in the lineup.

Same reaction for a Kawai Leonard at this point as well ?

No Kawhi you could possibly win a championship with if he’s healthy in the playoffs. Big if tho

ToddTT @ 5/20/2023 11:05 AM
No to Paul George, or any star that is injured every single year, or sparring with Father Time. Kawhi, Chris Paul, Harden, KD, Anthony Davis, Lebron, Porzingis, Klay, Embiid, etc.
nyvector16 @ 5/22/2023 12:57 AM
Unless it is for nothing, no thank you.
He is rarely healthy and that is the biggest r e d flag of all.

It would be the biggest dissapointment after all this rebuild we did to throw it all away for a cap killing star that is rarely on the court.

So much talent will become available due to new CBA, I think George is at the bottom of the list of desirable targets.. unless your a Clippers fan and are sick and tired of having a pretend super team.. then Paul George to the Knicks is great.

AGAIN, NO THANK YOU!

exactly... PG is 33 and always hurt. Lets get someone likely to be playing in the spring. Ingram also misses time but at 25 could be a legit 2nd scorer next to Brunson.
VDesai @ 5/22/2023 5:28 PM
Too injured/old. Needs to be a dump of salary. Fournier + opted in Rose.

Saw the Kinks at MSG in the 70s, Stones at Shea in the 80s. Both great shows.
