Can a team who has salary cap just pick him up?

He still will get $16M and then his full $30M gets guaranteed at start of end of June.

I can totally see this setting off a shitstorm of trades that now can involve CP3 and his contract holy moly
martin @ 6/7/2023 5:41 PM

He can sign anywhere for the vets minimum. He could be our back up PG to keep him healthy. He cant play 30 min anymore---but 13-15 yes.

Someone should tell CP3 Phoenix won’t have water pretty soon. On the other hand NYC has the country’s best tap water

Wow, I did not know that a team could waive and the re-sign the same player. Nice way of restructuring contracts to clear up cap space. Would they not lose his Bird Rights if he is waived?

There are better ways of finding Rose a buddy to chat with on the bench about the times of lore.

You know how the rust belt and North East lost people to the South west over many years. But with water shortages in the South West being a major factor plus higher costs for air conditioning which is related to that, who knows if you won't see a migration from the South West back to the Midwest and North East.

It’s already starting to happen. Home values in Austin are suddenly plummeting.

My guess is that it won't be climate change that gets people moving back to the Northeast, but some form of rent control, brought back regionally. They're starting to talk about it.

That's a major driver of the exodus from the Northeast. It's going to take decades to build enough housing to drive rents down. In the meantime people are moving elsewhere.

Not surprised this happened, surprised they got Durant knowing that CP3 doesn't have much left in the tank by the end of the regular season. So much KD and Booker can do. We'll see who the starting PG is next season. If they hadn't traded Bridges, I'd offer IQ.

I think FVV is their target, tho I'm not sure how they pull it off.

I have a hard time seeing CP3 signing anywhere other than LAL. He's a banana boater, fills a need, and Lakers just made it to conference finals, so just as good a ticket as anyone outside of Denver. Plus he's already loved in the city by Clipper fans.
Nalod @ 6/9/2023 11:06 AM
His family with school aged kids lives in LA.

If they can bring him back and save 18mil, they do it.
I assume what ever it is this is just part of orchestration.
perhaps there was a thought the could make a run this year. After all:

Booker
Durant
CP3
Ayton........

Not bad on paper. its did not come together. Monty and Ayton are not buds also. Vogel is now there.
odds are he returns now. Monty is a fine coach but he failed to engage Ayton well. Not sure where the blame is. But they moved on. I assume since detroit is paying more PHX owes him nothing.

While we there, is there anything dumber than Lebron to Dallas? Media word salad. Lebron team went to conf. finals, they have moves to make, he makes 47.5mil and his kid commited to USC so he can get to games and watch his kid. Lebron is a dad. Basketball wise, he needs the ball, he is good at it. Kyrie needs the ball, and that Doncic fella is pretty good to. but they all need the ball.

Lets just say at 30mil CP3 was not returning to PHX. He gets his 15mil and they an pay him a bit more if he wants to be there. If not, he'll have choices. My assumption its all been decided but optics matter.
